GAME RECAP

Rony Seikaly shook off a neck injury to score 26 points, including 12 in a pivotal second-quarter run, and Bo Outlaw added 16 points and 10 rebounds as the Orlando Magic continued their dominance of the Toronto Raptors with a 96-87 victory.

Seikaly, who suffered the injury in the Magic's loss to Chicago on Wednesday, made 9-of-14 shots and grabbed nine rebounds before fouling out with 49 seconds left. Penny Hardaway added 17 points for the Magic, who have won seven straight against Toronto and have never lost to the Raptors at home.

"I don't know if anyone in this room would've played in his condition (Seikaly with a sprained neck)," said Magic coach Chuck Daly. "People are ready to step up."

Orlando rallied from a one-point deficit after the first quarter, scoring 30 of the next 50 points to open a 54-45 advantage.

Marcus Camby scored 17 points, Carlos Rogers added 14 and Zan Tabak had 13 for the Raptors, who have dropped four of their first five games.

"The schedule has not been kind," said Raptors coach Darrell Walker. "Tonight was the one we could've gotten, but that is a talented team that they have got. They have not been playing bad, but it is a talented basketball team. My guys are playing hard. The day we make shots is the day we commit 20 turnovers, like today. We started like this last year. We are going to come out of it."

The Magic led 22-16 with just under four minutes left in the opening quarter, but the Raptors closed the period with a 9-2 run. John Wallace had seven of the nine points and capped the spurt with a dunk.

The game remained tight through much of the second quarter and when Doug Christie buried a 15-foot jump shot with the 4:19 to play, the Raptors led 41-39. But the Magic would score 15 of the next 19 points to close the quarter.

Mark Price hit two free throws to knot the contest and Seikaly hit a pair from the line to give the Magic a lead they would not relinquish. Price sank two more free throws for a 45-41 lead but Rogers hit a layup to draw Toronto within two.

Seikaly grabbed a rebound of his own miss and put it back in and was fouled. He sank the free throw for a 48-43 advantage and added a pair of layups in the next 65 seconds to push the Magic's lead to nine points.

Orlando extended its lead to as large as 16 in the third quarter behind Outlaw's six points. Toronto, which could draw no closer than seven points in the final quarter, hurt itself at the line by making just 9-of-20 free throw attempts.

"They played well tonight," said Wallace. "We had some costly turnovers, especially in the third quarter. We cut it down to six or seven, but they made the plays they had to make to win the game."

The Raptors, who were 0-for-5 from three-point range, used just eight players, but five scored in double figures.

Horace Grant finished with nine points and 12 rebounds for the Magic, who got just 15 points on 5-of-16 shooting from their bench.
