GAME RECAP

Wesley Person scored 30 points and Shawn Kemp added 25 as the Clevland Cavaliers capitalized on a pivotal fourth-quarter run and extended their winning to seven games with a 107-98 victory over the Vancouver Grizzlies.

The winning streak is Cleveland's longest since posting eight straight victories from January 31st-February 19th, 1996. The Cavs also have won five straight on the road.

Cleveland held an 85-83 lead entering the final quarter before going on a 15-3 spurt to start the period. Kemp scored eight points in the burst, as the Cavaliers crafted a 98-86 advantage with seven minutes to play.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim scored 27 points to lead the Grizzlies, who lost for the sixth time in seven games and fell to 0-5 all-time against Cleveland.

"Once again the third quarter was a bad one for us," VAncouver guard Blue Edwards said. "For some reason we stopped playing together. We have to rely on all five guys working together. I don't want to characterize this team as being selfish, but tonight that did rear its ugly head."

Rookie Brevin Knight converted 1-of-2 free throws with 3:11 left in the fourth quarter, giving Cleveland its biggest lead at 101-88. Knight finished with 16 points and 10 assists.

The Grizzlies narrowed the gap to 103-94 with 98 seconds to play on a jumper by Lee Mayberry, but were unable to creep closer.

Person connected on 4-of-4 three pointers and scored 13 points in the third quarter as the Cavs carried a slim lead into the final period. He finished 11-for-16 from the floor, including 7-for-11 from three-point range. The Cavs shot 46 percent (39-for-85) from the field.

"I've been in a good rhythm for a while," Person said. "It was a good flowing game. We were really being unselfish. They doubled team down low and we made sure we made the extra passes. I got great looks and the ball went down for me."

Kemp scored eight points in the first quarter as Cleveland held a 27-26 lead. The Grizzlies scored the first eight points of the second period, and took a 34-27 lead on Tony Massenburg's layup with 8:07 to play.

Zydrunas Ilgausksas pulled down 12 rebounds and Kemp finished with 11 for the Cleveland, which outrebounded the Grizzlies, 49-42.

Abdur-Rahim scored 15 of his points in the first half for the Grizzlies, who held a 52-51 lead.

Vancouver shot 41 percent (33-for-81) from the floor.

"Everything focuses off our defense," Kemp said. "We didn't want to trap them and give them extra outside shooting options. We played the passing lanes and made it hard for them to get good looks at the basket."
