GAME RECAP

Glenn Robinson scored six of his 32 points in overtime and Terrell Brandon added 18 points and 14 assists in his first game back from an ankle injury as the Milwaukee Bucks posted a 105-98 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, who have lost 13 in a row.

Michael Finley's jumper with 2:42 remaining in overtime gave Dallas a 95-94 lead but Robinson put the Bucks ahead for good with a layup 19 seconds later. On Milwaukee's next possession, Robinson was double-teamed and fed a wide-open Tyrone Hill, who sank a short jumper for a 98-95 lead. Armon Gilliam's dunk with 20 seconds to play made it 100-95.

"We just want to play hard in these close games," Robinson said. "We were at home and down but a lot of crazy things happened tonight and we just needed to stay in there. It was a good feeling tonight and we wanted to come out and keep playing hard. It was great to have Terrell back, he can score and pass the ball over."

Khalid Reeves nailed a three-pointer with 14 seconds remaining, drawing the Mavs within 100-98, but the Bucks made five free throws in the final 11 seconds, three by Brandon.

"It was a struggle, but we hung tough," Bucks coach Chris Ford said. "It wasn't pretty at times, but our defense pulled us out. Glenn had a hot hand tonight, he made some great plays. It was also nice to have Terrell back, he did an outstanding job for his first time back."

Finley finished with 23 points and Reeves contributed 18 for the Mavericks, whose 13-game slide is the team's longest since it dropped 17 straight games between February 26th-April 2nd, 1994. Dallas has also lost 11 in a row on the road.

"These games are all hard to lose, we need to win so bad, we seem to be trying anything," Dallas coach Don Nelson said. "I'm still a little rusty too, I waited too long to stop their play that caused us trouble. Their press bothered us, and even with the openings we found we didn't make the shots we needed."

Dennis Scott hit a 12-foot jumper with 4:39 to go in regulation, giving the Mavs the biggest lead of the game at 84-76. But the Bucks answered with a 10-2 run, capped by Robinson's jumper with 37 seconds left, for an 86-86 tie.

The teams traded baskets before Finley had a chance to win it for Dallas, but his wild shot from the top of the key as time expired failed to hit the rim.

"I took a bad shot to end regulation," said Finley, who played collegiately at Wisconsin. "This is a learning experience for not only myself, but the team also. We definitely let this one slip away. The fans here have always been one of the great things I appreciate when I come back to Wisconsin."

Ray Allen had 19 points, seven assists and six rebounds and Hill tallied eight points and 16 rebounds for Milwaukee, which notched its fifth straight win over Dallas and its 12th victory in the last 15 meetings between the teams.

The Bucks have gone into overtime in three consecutive contests, marking the first time they have done that since the 1978-79 season.

Scott had 17 points and eight assists and Shawn Bradley added 11 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks for Dallas, which shot 38 percent (33-for-86) from the field.

The Mavs held a 19-16 edge after one quarter but the teams went into halftime tied at 45-45.
