GAME RECAP

Michael Jordan scored 44 points and Luc Longley had one of his best games in the NBA, leading the Chicago Bulls to their 12th straight home win, a 114-100 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Longley scored a career-high 24 points, matched a career best with eight assists and grabbed nine rebounds for the Bulls, who won for the ninth time in 10 games. Toni Kukoc contributed 16 points for Chicago, which improved to a league-best 16-1 at home.

Dennis Rodman grabbed 21 rebounds for the Bulls, who defeated the Bucks for the 10th straight time, including seven straight at the United Center. It was Rodman's sixth 20-rebound game in his last nine contests.

"Milwaukee came in after a rather lackluster shooting performance in December (an 84-62 Chicago victory) and showed what they can do offensively," Chicago coach Phil Jackson said. "They played a great game as far as a scoring team. We had a hard time slowing them down tonight."

Glenn Robinson scored a season-high 42 points for the Bucks, who had matched an NBA record by playing in three straight overtime games. Terrell Brandon recorded 24 points and 13 assists and Armon Gilliam had 18 points and 11 rebounds for Milwaukee.

"This was a good offensive game," Robinson said. "It was great to have a good game in front of a home crowd here. However, every night you come to play it's no fun to look up and see an 'L'.

Robinson, who was 17-of-29 from the field, kept the Bucks close in the fourth quarter. He had five consecutive Milwaukee baskets to bring the Bucks within 94-90 with 6:11 remaining before the Bulls put the game away.

"It was a funny game," Jordan said. "We turned the ball over a lot more than we should have and we let them stay in the game too much. Big Dog (Robinson) got hot and no one could really control him. In certain situations we gave a good effort but he made some good shots."

Steve Kerr buried a three-pointer with 5:40 left to ignite an 8-0 spurt. Longley had consecutive buckets, throwing down a dunk with 5:15 remaining and a hook with 4:47 to play. Kukoc made one free throw to cap the burst and give Chicago a 102-90 advantage with 4:20 to go.

Milwaukee never threatened again and Chicago led by as much as 17 points when Rodman's three-pointer with 1:35 left made it 111-94.

Jordan, who shot 15-of-22, poured in 16 points in the first quarter, but Milwaukee held a 31-30 lead behind 13 points from Brandon. Jordan, who has scored at least 40 in three of the last four games, had nine more in the second period, pulling the Bulls into a 57-57 tie.

Gilliam opened the third with a free throw, but Ron Harper scored four points and Longley three in a 10-4 burst as the Bulls took a 67-61 lead on Longley's 10-footer with 8:46 left in the period.

Kerr finished with 10 points for the Bulls, who shot 53 percent (40-of-76) and destroyed the Bucks on the boards, 49-27. Milwaukee was missing its best rebounder, forward Tyrone Hill, who did not travel with the team due to a family illness.

"We certainly could have used Tyrone tonight on the boards," Milwaukee coach Chris Ford said. "The guys battled and I'm very happy with the effort. We shot well but didn't show our best defense."

Ray Allen was held to 11 points on 4-of-12 shooting for Milwaukee, which shot 49 percent (40-of-81).
