GAME RECAP

Olden Polynice posted season highs of 26 points and 16 rebounds in 35 minutes off the bench and the Sacramento Kings won their fourth consecutive game, 103-92 over the Dallas Mavericks.

Mitch Richmond chipped in 18 points and seven assists and Corliss Williamson 14 points and nine boards for the Kings (15-20), who have won seven out of 10 overall and have beaten the Mavericks in all three meetings this season.

"Olden Polynice really stepped up big time for us tonight," said Sacramento coach Eddie Jordan. You've gotta give the old guy credit. He did a good job on the defensive boards against the pressure, and offensively, he did a great job against (Shawn) Bradley."

"They are very aggressive on defense and they were taking everything out on the perimeter and the middle was open," said Polynice. "I just happened to be open and the guys got me the ball."

Samaki Walker tied his career-high with 20 points for Dallas, but had only two free throws in the second half. Dennis Scott had 23 points and Michael Finley 16 and 10 rebounds for the Mavericks, who ended a 15-game losing streak against Denver on Tuesday.

The 7-6 Bradley had seven blocks -- recording six or more in a game for the seventh time this season -- for Dallas, which has lost 28 of its last 31 games and has not won consecutive games since opening the season with three wins in a row.

"When you hope you're going to start cooking offensively, and you don't, it's a bit of a downer," Dallas coach Don Nelson said. "We struggled offensively. I hope some day we'll start playing consistenly with all of our players."

The Mavericks missed 10-of-23 free throws and were only 7-of-22 from behind the three-point arc. Sacramento only hit 5-of-15 three-pointers, but shot 44 percent (38-for-86) from the field.

Walker had 12 points in the first quarter to help the Mavericks jump out to a 27-25 lead.

Sacramento gained control of the game in the second quarter by reeling off an 18-4 spurt, led by Polynice's six points. Polynice started the run off with a layup at the 7:17 mark, cutting the deficit to 36-34. Six minutes later, Anthony Johnson capped off the burst by turning a driving layup into a three-point play, giving the Kings a 50-40 lead, one they wouldn't relinquish thereafter.

Dallas reduced Sacramento's 53-42 halftime lead to five points twice in the third quarter, the last time at 60-55 with 4:45 remaining following a 10-foot jumper by Bradley.

After Bradley's shot, Sacramento rebuilt its lead to 71-59 with an 11-4 spurt, capped by a jumper by Richmond with 1:30 left.

The closest the Mavericks came in the fourth quarter was seven points, the last time at 99-92 with just 25.9 seconds left on consecutive three-pointers by Finley and Scott.

"I'm still happy that we're learning. Losing is different when you're learning," said Scott. "Nobody likes to lose, but you have to look at it from a different aspect. I think this team is still hungry."
