Denver (5-48) at Seattle (40-13) 8:00 pm EST ---------------------------------------------------------------- The Seattle SuperSonics look for their seventh straight victory over the Denver Nuggets when the teams meet tonight at Key Arena.

The teams have met twice already this season, with Seattle winning once on the road and once at home. The Sonics have claimed 12 of the last 14 meetings in the series.

On November 22nd in Denver, the Sonics won 84-80, led by Gary Payton's 20 points. The Nuggets, who scored only four points over the last six minutes, got 22 points from Eric Washington and 17 rebounds from Dean Garrett.

The Sonics' 119-106 home win on December 18th, aided by Vin Baker's 18 points and 10 rebounds and four three-pointers from Sam Perkins, extended Denver's losing streak in Seattle to nine games. Denver has not won a road game against the Sonics since the 1992-93 season.

Seattle has won seven of its last 10 games but lost two of its last three at Key Arena. On Friday, visiting Boston surprised the Sonics, 106-96. Baker had 25 points and 10 boards and Payton 23 and 10 assists, but their efforts could not prevent the Sonics from losing for only the fourth time in 25 home games.

The Nuggets have lost six in a row and 10 of 12 overall. On Friday night Denver's road record dropped to 1-26 with a 95-88 setback at Golden State. Tony Battie and Johnny Newman had 18 points apiece for the Nuggets, who placed rookie guard Bobby Jackson on the injured list before the game with a fractured ring finger on his right hand.
