Game Story

TORONTO (Ticker) -- Antonio Davis scored 20 points and Vince Carter added 19 as the Toronto Raptors pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 106-100 victory over the slumping Los Angeles Clippers.

Dell Curry added a season-high 16 points off the bench, including 10 in the fourth quarter. Curry was 4-for-4 from 3-point range for Toronto, which bounced back from its first road loss of the season on Thursday and posted a franchise-record sixth win in the month of November.

Troy Hudson tied a career high with 20 points, Eric Piatkowski added 19 and Antonio Skinner had career-highs of 18 and 16 rebounds for Los Angeles. The Clippers, who lost for the fifth time in six games, committed 20 turnovers.

Hudson nailed a 20-footer to tie the game at 74-74 with 10:04 to play, but the Raptors went on a 14-3 run over the next 4:31. Tracy McGrady scored five of his 14 points and Curry also had five during the run.

Davis' driving layup gave Toronto an 88-77 lead with 5:33 left.

Toronto opened a 95-83 lead with 2:32 remaining when Curry drained his second 3-pointer of the quarter. The Clippers never got closer than six points the rest of the way.

"A win is a win," Carter said. "Sometimes it's going to be ugly. We got the win and it's a little momentum going into the West Coast."

The Clippers trailed 52-44 at the half, but Hudson scored 14 points in the third quarter, including two free throws with 26 seconds left in the period to give Los Angeles a 72-67 lead.

But Curry banked in a 29-footer from the left sideline with one second remaining in the third quarter to cut the lead to 72-70.

"It was the end of the quarter, so I wanted to get it up," Curry said. "I thought it wasn't going to go in. I knew it was long, but I didn't think it would bank in."

Toronto stormed out to a 15-2 lead over the first 9:10 of the game as the Clippers went 8:01 without a field goal and shot a miserable 1-for-14. The Raptors shot 27 percent (8-for-29) from the field in the first 12 minutes and committed seven turnovers.

"We didn't execute at the beginning of the game," Skinner said. "They got a lot of wide open shots. We had to refocus and that's what we did and we got back in the game. The same thing happened late in the fourth quarter. We lost our focus, left Dell Curry open and that hurt us a lot."

The Raptors made 47 percent (38-of-80) of their shots, including 7-of-12 from 3-point range. Toronto held the advantage in fast-break points, 32-20, and scoring in the paint, 44-38.
