Game Story

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Reggie Miller scored 11 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter, leading the Indiana Pacers to their season-high sixth straight win, a 108-90 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

The loss was the ninth straight for the struggling Clippers, who are in the midst of their longest losing streak since a 17-game skid to start the lockout-shortened 1998-99 season. The Clippers have not won since a 100-95 triumph over the New York Knicks on November 23.

Miller took over in the final period after Los Angeles used an 8-0 run to close to 79-71 at the end of the third quarter. He scored eight of the Pacers' first 12 points in the quarter, culminating with four-point play with 5:37 remaining to extend the lead to 91-74.

Miller hit a 3-pointer from the left sideline, was fouled and made the free throw.

Indiana, which never trailed, has its longest regular-season winning streak since taking seven in a row in April 1998. The Pacers also won seven straight games in last season's playoffs.

"We did a good job controlling the tempo of the game," Miller said. "We have a lot of talent on this team and are beginning to collectively play well. We are working together at all times and are going to continue to get better."

"I thought we would come out and play hard," Pacers coach Larry Bird said. "We've been on a roll and we've got to win at home."

The Pacers took advantage throughout, converting 14 Los Angeles turnovers into 26 points.

"Our guys played hard but they are young and make a lot of mistakes," Clippers coach Chris Ford said. "They make mistakes on both the offensive and defensive end, which add up and kill us. This is just such a learning proces for us. It is just very tough for us to get it all together for one evening of basketball."

Michael Olowokandi scored a career-high 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Clippers, who have lost four straight on the road.

Indiana held a 23-22 lead after one quarter before veteran Sam Perkins helped break open the game, scoring all of his 10 points in the second quarter as Indiana extended its lead to 59-46 at halftime.

Dale Davis grabbed 18 rebounds and has 38 boards in the last two games for Indiana, which has won 12 straight meetings with Los Angeles.
