Game StoryPHOENIX (Ticker) -- Cliff Robinson scored 25 points on 11-of-16 shooting and Jason Kidd netted 15 of his 19 points in the second half as the Phoenix Suns continued their home dominance over the Golden State Warriors with a 108-88 victory.
Playing on the third anniversary of his trade from the Dallas Mavericks, Kidd had 11 points in the third quarter as the Suns opened an 81-64 lead.
Phoenix led by as many as 26 points in the fourth quarter and shot a season-high 58 percent (44-of-76) overall to snap a two-game losing streak. The Suns improved to 11-0 when holding an opponent under 90 points.
"We didn't start the game very well and this is a game we had to win," Phoenix coach Scott Skiles said. "We came out in the third quarter and regrouped and played very hard to get the lead. Jason and Cliff got us going in the third quarter and we were able to get a big lead and coast home."
The Suns moved out to a 67-53 advantage on Kidd's layup and technical foul shot with 6:14 left in the third quarter. Randy Livingston's basket completed a 6-0 run as the Suns led 81-61 cushion.
Phoenix shot 68 percent (13-of-19) in the third quarter to take a 81-64 lead.
"We didn't play like we really wanted to win the game," Warriors forward Antawn Jamison said. "They played harder than we did, they played excellent defense, they just outplayed us."
Jamison scored 17 points and Jason Caffey added 16 for Golden State, which has lost nine straight at America West Arena and fell to 3-27 in its last 30 trips to Phoenix over the last 12 seasons. The Warriors are 21-62 all-time on the road against the Suns.
Golden State suffered its third straight loss and fifth in six games overall. The Warriors have dropped nine of their last 11 on the road, where they are 3-11 this season.
John Starks, who scored 14 points, cut the Suns' lead to 86-70 on a 14-footer with 8:14 to play. But Phoenix went on an 8-0 run over the next 2:06 to take command as Kidd and Oliver Miller each scored four points.
"We started off slow but we pulled it together and did what we're supposed to," Kidd said. "But now we have to prepare for Utah tomorrow, so we don't have much time."
Phoenix dominated inside, outscoring the Warriors, 58-30, in the paint and outrebounding Golden State, 41-34.
Robinson scored eight points in the first quarter as Phoenix made 61 percent (11-of-18) of its shots to grab a 24-20 advantage. The Suns closed the first half with eight straight points as Toby Bailey scored four and Robinson's layup with 22 seconds remaining gave Phoenix a 50-44 advantage.
"I thought we had a real good opportunity in the first half but we hurt ourselves by not making free throws," Golden State coach P.J. Carlesimo said. "We stopped rebounding and defending in the second half."
The Warriors made only 37 percent (6-of-16) of their free throws in the first half and were just 14-of-27 overall.
