Game Story

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- Chris Webber and the Sacramento Kings proved there's no place like home and that 110 is their favorite number.

Webber had 26 points and 12 rebounds as the Kings improved to 13-2 at home and a perfect 12-0 when scoring at least 110 points with a 110-93 rout of the Houston Rockets.

The 6-10 Webber made 13-of-24 shots to help the Kings post their fifth straight win at Arco Arena. Sacramento has lost eight straight games when failing to reach the century mark but has eclipsed the magic 110 figure in back-to-back games after Sunday's thrilling 116-113 victory over Indiana.

"We're supposed to win games like this," Webber said. "I love home games. I never want to play in the fourth quarter if we can win like this. I'll take a ho-hum game up 20 any day. Late in the fourth quarter, we felt like we had it under our belts and played at a good pace all game and we knew what we could accomplish."

The Kings' bench also played a prominent role, keying a 11-0 run to start the fourth quarter. Reserves Darrick Martin, Jon Barry and Predrag Stojakovic made 3-pointers after Webber started the spurt with a short jumper as Sacramento opened a 92-69 lead with 9:12 to play and never looked back.

"I look to take over a little more and I just try to play as the flow needs me to play," Martin said. "I was into a little rhythm tonight. If I get into a rhythm, I can be a (pain) to guard."

Rookie Steve Francis scored 16 points and Cuttino Mobley added 14 off the bench for Houston, which has lost four straight, six of seven and 12 of 14 since a modest three-game winning streak.

"We didn't take care of the ball at all," Mobley said. "And it wasn't anything like they were forcing it. They are an offensive team and offensively, we didn't take care of the ball."

Sacramento has taken all three meetings with Houston this season after being swept in three games by the Rockets during the lockout-shortened campaign.

Martin scored 17 points and Vlade Divac and Nick Anderson added 11 apiece for the Kings, who shot 47 percent (42-of-88) and scored a whopping 39 points off turnovers.

"We've been competitive in so many games, tonight we just weren't," Houston coach Rudy Tomjanovich said. "We still had a chance at halftime, even though we played horrible and they just wore us down. We killed ourselves. We shot ourselves in the foot time and time again."

"I liked the way we played defensively tonight," Sacramento coach Rick Adelman said. "We were very active. We got our hands on the ball quite a bit, we got 20 steals. At the end of the third quarter and start of the fourth, we were able to put it away, which was good to see that happen so a lot of guys got some minutes."

Carlos Rogers had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Rockets, who held a 53-41 advantage on the boards but shot 41 percent (35-of-86).

The Rockets held a team meeting after the game before addressing the media. They have lost seven in a row on the road and are 4-13 overall away from the Compaq Center.

Shandon Anderson opened the scoring by converting a three-point play and Francis buried a jumper to give Houston a 5-0 lead. Rogers' hook shot in the lane stretched the advantage to 13-4 with 8:21 remaining in the first quarter before the Kings took over, closing the period with a 23-6 run.
