Game Story

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- Predrag Stojakovic scored a season-high 21 points off the bench and Corliss Williamson added 15, leading the Sacramento Kings to their third win in five games, a 118-85 rout of the Seattle SuperSonics.

Sacramento went on a 13-2 second-quarter run, opening a 44-30 lead with 6:58 left as Stojakovic buried a pair of 3-pointers. He ended up 4-of-8 from beyond the arc as the Kings made 11-of-34 3-pointers.

Williamson scored 13 points in the first half on 6-of-8 shooting as the Kings led, 62-44. Sacramento shot 51 percent (27-of-53) from the floor while holding Seattle to 39 percent (17-of-44).

The Sonics closed within eight, but the Kings used a 20-7 spurt to open a 82-61 cushion late in the third quarter. Jason Williams scored five points and Chris Webber had four in the run.

Stojakovic has scored in double figures six straight games, averaging 15.0 points. He had averaged 9.8 points prior to this contest.

"I know I have to step up and make my shots when they are doubling on guys down low," Stojakovic said. "I like to think that we played good defense in the first half and when we play well defensively, it's good for the second half and the game."

Sacramento was perfect on 15 free throws and had seven players, including all the starters, score in double figures.

Williams finished with 13 points and Scot Pollard grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds for the Kings, who recorded their second-most lopsided win of the season. They defeated Chicago, 119-80, on February 8.

Webber and Jon Barry scored 12 points each while Nick Anderson and Vlade Divac added 11 apiece.

"It was a big game for us after we lost two in a row to come back red hot," Divac said. "Our bench responded well. They had our game and it definitely helped us with the win."

Brent Barry scored 21 points and Vin Baker added 19 for Seattle, which suffered its worst loss of the season, surpassing a 14-point defeat to Portland on December 16.

"It was certainly not a good performance from our team," Barry said. "The upsetting thing is that we've talked about not being the more focused team and not having these kind of lapses."

"I was not making shots," Baker said. "Our defense was not good tonight and a lot of times when things are not going your way offensively, it just translates over to your defense."

Gary Payton had 13 points and 12 assists for the Sonics, but shot just 4-of-19 from the floor.

Sacramento snapped a two-game home skid against Seattle and reached the 20-win mark at Arco Arena for the sixth time in seven seasons. The Kings avoided their first three-game slide since December.
