Game StoryMILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Michael Dickerson scored 26 points and Shareef Abdur-Rahim added 24 to lead the Vancouver Grizzlies to an impressive 111-100 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Dickerson, who hit 3-of-5 3-pointers, scored 10 points in the second quarter, when the Grizzlies turned a six-point deficit into a 51-46 halftime lead.
Abdur-Rahim and Dickerson combined for 17 third-quarter points, helping Vancouver pull away. The Grizzlies opened the period with six straight points as part of a 15-4 burst. Dickerson's 3-pointer capped it and pushed the lead to 66-50 with 7:44 left.
Milwaukee scored the next eight points to halve the deficit with 4:42 left, but the Grizzlies regrouped and took a 79-69 advantage into the fourth quarter.
Vancouver extended the lead to 18 points on several occasions during the final period and won for the third time in four games.
"We had a super effort tonight," Grizzles coach Lionel Hollins said. "We were down early and came back. We shot the ball well, attacked their press, got a lead and didn't turn the ball over."
"Vancouver played a very good game," Bucks coach George Karl said. "I thought it was just a simple game plan on Vancouver's part. We tried to outshoot them, but they outshot us in the second half. They were probing our defense. Dickerson, Abdur-Rahim and (Mike) Bibby could go anywhere they wanted to go."
Abdur-Rahim bounced back from a sub-par 15-point effort in a 103-91 loss on Friday by hitting 6-of-8 from the floor and 12-of-14 from the foul line.
The Grizzlies improved to 8-18 on the road and 8-10 since snapping a 30-game road losing streak, dating to last season.
Vancouver has shown definite improvement since Hollins took over for Brian Hill on December 16. The Grizzlies are 12-17 since Hollins assumed the coaching reins, compared to 4-18 under Hill.
Ray Allen scored 32 points to lead the Bucks, who have lost five straight at home and five of their last six overall.
"That was as frustrating a game as we've ever played," Allen said. "We had no defensive aggressiveness at all. We have a lot of veterans on this team. This shouldn't happen."
Karl was asked whether the loss was the low point of the season.
"It sure feels like it," he said. "Tonight was as embarrassing as I can remember this season. The mental attitude and toughness is embarrassing.
Mike Bibby had 13 points and 10 assists and Doug West and Dennis Scott added 12 points each off the bench for the Grizzlies, who shot 51 percent (36-of-70) from the floor, including 8-of-15 from 3-point range, and hit 31-of-39 free throws.
"We play well, but sometimes we have mental lapses like last night and get blown out," Bibby said. "This was a good way to bounce back."
Glenn Robinson scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Sam Cassell had 16 points and 10 assists for Milwaukee, which shot 48 percent (39-of-81) and held a 39-31 rebounding edge.
