Game StoryOAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- Shaquille O'Neal scored 49 points and helped spark a decisive run spanning the final two quarters as the Los Angeles Lakers won their 11th straight game, 111-104 over the hapless Golden State Warriors.
The Lakers clinched homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs during the game when Portland lost a home to Houston.
Los Angeles received a major scare from a team it had beaten three times earlier this season. But the Lakers used an 18-3 second-half run to secure their first outright division title since the 1989-90 season.
Kobe Bryant drilled a 3-pointer with one-tenth of a second left in the third quarter to give Los Angeles a 77-75 lead. It was Bryant's first game since serving a one-game suspension for Sunday's altercation with Chris Childs of New York.
Brian Shaw and rookie Devean George opened the final period with 3-pointers, helping Los Angeles open an eight-point lead with 10:48 remaining. O'Neal netted seven points in the spurt.
Bryant finished with 16 points and George 14 as the Lakers recorded their seventh straight road win.
Donyell Marshall scored 32 points, Jason Caffey had 21 and Mookie Blaylock 18 for Golden State, which has dropped 10 straight.
