Game Story

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Kobe Bryant displayed just how awesome he can be and in doing so, exposed just how horrible the Golden State Warriors can look.

Bryant scored 31 points in three quarters and dazzled the Staples Center with a series of spectacular dunks and layups as the Los Angeles Lakers embarrassed the Warriors, 111-91, cruising to their seventh straight win against the Pacific Division's worst team.

The Lakers never trailed en route to their 17th win in 18 encounters in the series and Bryant took center stage late in the first quarter. After committing a turnover that resulted in Erick Dampier's slam, the All-Star guard put on an exhibition.

An acrobatic driving layup was followed by a steal of Larry Hughes' errant pass and a free throw on the other end. Bryant was the recipient of a long pass from Ron Harper, which turned into a incredible dunk that featured two very generous steps into the paint and a 360-degree turn.

Bryant came down on the next possession and buried a 27-footer, giving him a personal 8-0 run and the Lakers a 31-15 cushion with 1:43 left in the period.

The 6-7, 215-pound Bryant finished 13-of-19 from the field and 3-of-4 at the line. He grabbed four rebounds and handed out seven assists in 30 minutes before watching from the bench as the Lakers continued their assault without him in the fourth quarter.

Fellow superstar Shaquille O'Neal had 15 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and six blocks in 31 minutes and was so amused with the feeble competition that he went into an impromptu dance in the second quarter.

After being fouled in the lane by Adonal Foyle, O'Neal fell to the paint and burst into a freestyle breakdance that drew an ovation from the crowd.
