Game Story

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- Cuttino Mobley scored a career-high 41 points as the Houston Rockets overcame 43 points by Antawn Jamison and defeated the Golden State Warriors at home for the 11th straight time, 112-104.

Mobley made 14-of-26 shots and 11-of-13 free throws as he eclipsed his previous high of 35 points against Seattle on April 16 and led Houston to its eighth win in its last 11 road games.

"I got hurt early and kept it up," he said. "My team fed me, shots went in and we played hard. We knew it was going to be a dogfight. Not to be conceited, it's the truth, when we click, it's hard to guard us."

"Cuttino was fantastic," Houston coach Rudy Tomjanovich said. "He really got into a flow and did it in various ways. Offensive rebounds, cuts, drives, pull-ups, spot shots, we needed everyone of those things."

Jamison, who had back-to-back 50-point games earlier this season, had another huge game, making 14-of-27 shots from the field and 13-of-16 from the line. He also grabbed 15 rebounds but it was not enough to lift the Warriors.

Kenny Thomas scored 10 points in the third quarter, which the Rockets closed with a 16-6 run to take an 85-73 lead.

Houston shot 51 percent (40-of-77).

Bobby Sura scored a season-high 31 points for the Warriors.

"Me and Antawn had some good games," Sura said, "But our defense was the problem. We were not able to stop them off the dribble, It's tough to win when you are giving up 100 points a game."

"We are to the point now where we are just getting frustrated," Jamison said. "We have been in great situations time after time. Once again, we just came up short."
