Game Story

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- The Golden State Warriors have seen enough of the Vancouver Grizzlies for two straight nights.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim scored 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Grizzlies completed a home-and-home sweep with a 92-79 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

Vancouver, which defeated Golden State 99-89 on Thursday, ended a 15-game road losing streak. The Grizzlies are 3-0 since the All-Star break, their first three-game winning streak since January 7-10, 2000 and just the third in franchise history.

"Both last night and tonight we were contesting their shots well," Vancouver coach Sidney Lowe said. "The guys are really starting to realize that the way to win ball games is to play defense and get stops. We've made key stops at key times and made good plays the last couple of ball games."

A three-point play by Bobby Sura pulled Golden State within 58-54 with just under eight minutes to go in the third quarter. Michael Dickerson's 3-pointer ignited a 14-4 run by Vancouver that opened a 72-58 lead with 1:46 left.

Vancouver held a 75-66 advantage entering the fourth quarter. Golden State got no closer than 75-68 on Corie Blount's basket with 9:40 left. The Grizzlies scored 10 of the next 14 points, including five by Mike Bibby, for an 85-72 lead with 6:51 remaining and the outcome was not in doubt thereafter.

Abdur-Rahim made 12-of-17 shots en route to his second straight 20-point effort against the Warriors. Bibby scored 17 points and had seven assists and Dickerson added 13 for the Grizlies, who have not lost since the announcement of their probable relocation.

"I think we've started to go out there and just play," Abdur-Rahim said. "We have put the distractions behind us. We are playing really hard right now and it is showing in the way games are going for us."

The Grizzlies shot 52 percent (38-of-73) and racked up 24 assists. Vancouver made 6-of-13 from beyond the arc one night after connecting on 8-of-12. In contrast, Golden State made just 1-of-13 3-pointers after making 1-of-12 on Thursday.

"We've got a team that shoots the ball well," Golden State coach Dave Cowens said. "The last two games they have been 14-of-25 from 3-point land and we are 2-of-25. That is a margin of 36 points. That is more than what we lost by."

Antawn Jamison, who scored 24 points Thursday, again led Golden State with 21 points on 8-of-18 shooting. Rookie Marc Jackson added 18 and 13 rebounds for his 16th career double-double.

"Tonight was totally embarrassing," Jamison said. "It's embarrassing to lose a back to back to Vancouver. Tonight was a dead night on the court."

Sura added 15 on 6-of-11 shooting as Golden State shot 41 percent (33-of-80). The Warriors did enjoy a 41-30 rebounding edge.

"We haven't jelled or been able to come around with the rest of the group, with the rest of the league," Cowens said. "Everyone else has had their players together for a long time and they are in a groove."

The Warriors, who were outscored in each quarter, have lost eight of their last nine.
