Game Story

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Lamar Odom quietly recorded his third triple-double in the last five games as the Los Angeles Clippers handed the Cleveland Cavaliers their fourth straight loss, 104-97.

Odom collected 11 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds for his fourth triple-double of the season, helping the Clippers to their fourth consecutive home win.

On March 22 against Houston, Odom had 12 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in a 97-92 win. Five nights later against Detroit, he tallied 27 points, 11 assists and a career-high 16 rebounds in a 101-94 triumph. All three performances came at home.

Odom helped the Clippers record seven wins in March for the first time since the 1995-96 season, when they were 8-8.

"This wasn't the best game," Odom said. "But defensively we were able to get the job done. Offensively, you didn't see the spark ... but everyone seems to like each other, hopefully it will carry us through the next five, six, 10 years. There's so many games like this, you've got to win ugly."

"I didn't think he quite had it, his A-game, but he still ends up with a triple-double," Clippers coach Alvin Gentry said. "For a guy that struggles, I think that tells you what kind of player he is."

Los Angeles improved 19-18 at the Staples Center.

"For the first time we get above .500 at home which is a goal of ours," Gentry said. "That's important to us as we continue to try to build our team and build this franchise."

Andre Miller led five Cavaliers in double figures with 19 points. Lamond Murray scored 18 off the bench against his former team as Cleveland dropped its 10th straight road game and was swept on a four-game western swing.

Cleveland trailed most of the second half. Murray had a layup with 2 1/2 minutes to play to pull the Cavs within 92-89, but that was as close the Cleveland got. Odom answered with a bucket to push the lead back to five.

Miller, who made his first six free throws, had a chance to pull the Cavs within three again but missed two from the line with 1:33 to play before Jeff McInnis was fouled and converted a pair to make it 96-89 with 77 seconds left.

Odom, who scored just seven points in a loss at Seattle on Friday, had three points in the first quarter and was scoreless in the second before his club took the lead into the break.

"Last year, games were just games, it didn't matter if they were away or at home. That's the big difference this year, we've got to keep it up." Odom said.

Cleveland tied the score for the final time when Murray dunked with 3:11 to go in the second to make it, 38-38. Corey Maggette scored six points to fuel a 13-2 run that gave the Clippers a 50-42 halftime advantage.

"We hurt ourselves because we didn't close out the second quarter," Cleveland coach Randy Wittman said. "They bumped their lead to eight at the half, they put us in a hole and we couldn't recover."

Los Angeles had lost four straight home games in the series since January 18, 1995.
