Game Story

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- After proving that they can win at home, the Los Angeles Clippers have finally won a road game.

Jeff McInnis scored 22 points and handed out eight assists as the Clippers reached the 30-win plateau for the first time in four seasons with a 106-94 victory over the Golden State Warriors, who have lost 11 straight games.

Los Angeles is 12-3 at home since February 1, the best mark among Western Conference teams. But the Clippers snapped a nine-game road losing streak behind another strong effort from McInnis, who led the team in scoring in Los Angeles' earlier two wins over the Warriors.

"It was a good win," Los Angeles coach Alvin Gentry said. "We needed to win on the road. Actually, we've been playing pretty well on the road, but we just couldn't get a win."

A dunk by Erick Dampier gave Golden State its final lead at 58-57 with just over 10 minutes left in the third quarter. But Los Angeles took control as a 3-pointer from Eric Piatkowski triggered a 14-3 run for a 73-61 lead with four minutes to go.

The Clippers opened the fourth with nine straight points, capped by a three-point play by rookie Darius Miles, for an 88-67 bulge with 10 minutes remaining.

After that, Los Angeles exhibited its young legs as rookie Quentin Richardson and Corey Maggette each had resounding dunks to punctuate the Clippers' first road victory since a 93-80 triumph at Chicago on February 22.

"I put no specific number on the wins we should have this season," Gentry said. "I just thought we needed to establish that we would play hard and compete every night. This win gives us 30, which is really good for us as an organization."

Lamar Odom scored 19 points and Maggette added 17 on 7-of-9 shooting for the Clippers, who placed five players in double figures.

Miles made 6-of-9 shots and finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds while Piatkowski added 10. Los Angeles shot 51 percent (42-of-82) despite connecting on just 2-of-13 from beyond the arc.

"I think going into next year, we have so much potential," Piatkowski said. "We have so many young guys who want to play. I'm excited. We're going to be pretty good next year."

Antawn Jamison scored 36 points on 16-of-36 shooting while rookie Chris Porter added 20 points for the Warriors, who have won just twice since the All-Star break.

"They are more athletic and they shot the ball better tonight but I thought our effort was pretty good," Golden State coach Dave Cowens. "(But) how can you win basketball games if you can't make layups?"

Golden State held a 59-46 rebounding edge, behind a career-high 17 boards from Corie Blount. Adonal Foyle grabbed 12 rebounds while jamison added 10 for the Warriors, who shot 38 percent (41-of-108).

"Personally, I didn't find anything positive about tonight's game," Blount said. "I think Antawn played well. I guess we played hard, but we just didn't get it done."

The Clippers took three of four from Golden State for the second straight season.
