Game Story

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- Antawn Jamison had 26 points and 12 rebounds as the Golden State Warriors snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 110-93 triumph over the Denver Nuggets.

Jason Richardson added 21 points for the Warriors, who built a big first-half lead and easily handed the Nuggets their season-high sixth straight defeat.

The Warriors led, 34-23, after one quarter and extended their advantage to 58-39 on a free throw by Jamison with 3:19 left in the second period.

"We did a good job defensively in the first half and we made them miss some shots," Jamison said. "We got a lot of easy buckets and really played into our favor."

The Nuggets got within 66-55 at halftime but no closer than 93-84 on a driving layup by Calbert Cheaney with 6:33 to go.

Juwan Howard scored 21 points before fouling out late and Tim Hardaway, who was traded with Howard to Denver from Midwest Division-leading Dallas last Thursday, added 18, including five 3-pointers.

Despite committing an NBA season-high 30 turnovers, the Warriors limited the Nuggets to 36 percent shooting (34-of-95) and outrebounded them, 61-40.

"We just didn't shoot the ball well tonight," Nuggets coach Mike Evans said. "You're not going to win too many games shooting the way we did. On top of that, they outrebounded us by 21."

Golden State shot just 45 percent (32-of-71) but made a season-high 43 free throws while Denver sank 20.

"This was our best chance for a win," Warriors coach Brian Winters said. "We need to try to win as many games as we can. We're at home and we wanted to get a win. Tonight, we played hard. We made a bunch of errors turning the ball over, but on the other side of the coin we did some nice things."

Denver, which fell to 0-23 when allowing 100 or more points, shot just 21 percent (5-of-24) from the arc.

"We got one win," Jamison said. "The most important thing is to try to get a couple of wins together, but it was good to get that one win and get a smile on our face. But we have a long way to go."
