Game StoryORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- Tracy McGrady doesn't have to score 40 points every game for the Orlando Magic to win. After struggling through the first three quarters, McGrady scored 11 of his 23 points in the final period as the Magic won their third straight game, 105-98 over the Seattle SuperSonics. McGrady hit a jumper as the shot clock expired with 2:32 left that gave the Magic a 93-88 lead. After a miss by Seattle, Grant Hill ran the floor and dished to McGrady, who hit a layup as he was fouled to extend the lead to eight points. "I'm the go-to guy, but there are games when I'll be struggling to get my shot off or hit a shot," McGrady said. "But I've got to continue to try and make things happen. That's what kind of player I am." "That was a gutty, grind-out win for us," Magic coach Doc Rivers said. "Sometimes you come out as a team and you're flat and you don't have it. I thought that's what we were tonight and we still won the game. In the past, I don't think we win games like this." McGrady, the league's leading scorer, had eclipsed 40 points in each of his last two games. He hit just 8-of-22 from the field but connected on all seven free throws. While McGrady searched for his shot, Hill paced Orlando, scoring 28 points on 10-of-14 shooting while delivering nine assists. "It's the team," Hill said. "T-Mac was still able to be effective and get some points even though it wasn't a normal T-Mac night. But we all picked it up and that's how it's gonna be sometimes." Orlando's Mike Miller scored 18 points off the bench, including two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. He shot 7-of-10 from the field, making 3-of-6 from the arc. Miller ignited a 10-2 run with a 3-pointer, then capped it with another that made it 87-81 with 5:08 left. "Those guys were key tonight since I had a rough start," McGrady added. "Grant carried us and Mike knocked down big shots. They're capable of doing that, that's their job. If one of us is struggling, somebody has to step up." Miller had hit just 6-of-22 attempts from 3-point range. "Honestly, I didn't ever know I was struggling," Miller said. "My game feels good right now. Like I said in my rookie year, I've shot way too many basketballs in my life to worry about missing." Darrell Armstrong blocked Rashard Lewis' layup with 1:02 remaining to keep Orlando's lead at six points. On the ensuing play, he hit a 3-pointer off a pass from a double-teamed McGrady to make it 100-91 with 39 seconds left. "I thought they made big plays and made big shots when they needed to and we didn't," Seattle coach Nate McMillan said. "That's part of the growth, the development of our guys. Knowing where to be, getting to their spots and when you're open, knocking it down." Gary Payton led the SuperSonics with 21 points and eight assists while Vladimir Radmanovic scored 20 points and pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds. "It's always hard to stop two great players," Payton said. "Whenever the ball comes off the rim, either one of them can get it and go straight down and start a fast break."
