Game Story

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- The Sacramento Kings' road woes are a distant memory. Chris Webber scored 27 points and Bobby Jackson added 23 and five steals as the Kings remained unbeaten at home with a 105-97 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. The Kings won their first three games of the season before losing the final three of a four-game road trip. But they bounced back against Memphis on Friday and held off Atlanta to remain unbeaten in four games at Arco Arena, where they have been a dominant team in recent seasons. "You have a lot of confidence at home," Jackson said. "Win on the road is everybody's biggest task. Hopefully, we get our road game together come Wednesday." Webber made 13-of-24 shots and Jackson 8-of-13 for Sacramento, which never trailed in the second half. The Kings were clinging to a 79-77 edge with 9:26 to go before scoring 12 of the next 14 points. Doug Christie and Hedo Turkoglu each scored four points during the spurt, which gave Sacramento a 93-81 cushion with 5:22 to go. "Sacramento is a very good basketball team," Atlanta coach Lon Kruger said. "If you have a little breakdown or a little lapse, they put together a six- or eight-point rally fast. They have a lot of weapons, a lot of different ways to hurt you." Christie scored 11 points in the final quarter and finished with 19 - all in the second half - eight rebounds and seven assists. "Shots were just falling and I was trying to make things happen," he said. "In the first half I missed a couple and that can kind of mess with you sometimes, but I just told myself to keep shooting." "Doug Christie was terrific, especially in the second half," Kings coach Rick Adelman said. "He was just all over the place." Peja Stojakovic scored 17 points and Vlade Divac collected nine, 10 rebounds and six assists for the Kings, who have won four straight meetings with the Hawks. Shareef Abdur-Rahim scored 32 points and Theo Ratliff had 12, 13 rebounds and four blocks as Atlanta lost its third straight and fell to 1-3 on a five-game road trip. Glenn Robinson had 15 points and nine rebounds and Dion Glover added 13 points off the bench for the Hawks, who shot just 44 percent from the floor (37-of-84) and committed 21 turnovers. The Kings led by as many as 10 in the first half and had a 38-30 advantage with 7:27 left in the second quarter. But the Hawks responded with a 12-2 run and took a 42-40 lead on a jumper by Robinson with 2:31 to go. Sacramento had a 48-47 halftime edge and opened the third quarter with a 13-2 run, led by Webber, who scored six points. Stojakovic capped the burst with a 3-pointer for a 61-49 cushion at 7:09. Atlanta scored 16 of the next 22 points and forged a 67-67 tie on a 3-pointer by Abdur-Rahim with 3:31 remaining.
