Game StoryINDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Detroit Pistons reminded the Indiana Pacers who won the Central Division last season. Richard Hamilton scored 22 points and Jon Barry and fellow reserve Corliss Williamson had 19 apiece as the Pistons ended Indiana's franchise-record nine-game winning streak with a 106-91 victory. The Pacers had gained league-wide attention by winning 10 of their first 11 games - the best start in franchise history. But the Pistons had won 10 of their first 13 and showed the toughness that led them to the 2001-02 Central Division title. "Last year was last year," Indiana center Jermaine O'Neal said. "They got what we got - a good season and no championship." Barry made 7-of-9 shots off the bench as defensive-minded Detroit shot 50 percent (40-of-80) and ended a streak of 11 consecutive games with 93 points or less. "For us, that's good," Barry said. "This is a very big win for us. They are a team that will be there at the end of the season. This is as good offensively as we have played all year." "You could argue that this was one of our better games," Detroit coach Rick Carlisle added. "We got our stops and were able to score. I was just happy to see us put the ball in the hole better tonight. We've got to keep building on what we've been working on." The Pistons never trailed in the fourth quarter but were clinging to a 79-76 lead with 11:07 left before pulling away with a 20-7 run. Williamson scored seven points during the burst and capped it with a three-point play for a 99-83 cushion with 3:39 remaining. Chucky Atkins and Zeljko Rebraca had 15 points apiece for the Pistons, who had six players in double figures and won for the sixth time in seven games. Detroit, one of the league's worst free-throw shooting teams, made 20-of-23 from the line and limited itself to 10 turnovers. Brad Miller collected 24 points and 11 rebounds and O'Neal had 12 and 14 as the Pacers lost for the fourth time in the last five meetings with Detroit. Indiana shot 49 percent (39-of-80) from the floor but allowed an opponent to shoot 50 percent for the first time this season. "We knew it had to happen eventually," forward Al Harrington said of the Pacers' winning streak. "We just have to make sure it doesn't continue. We need to get back on track." The Pacers had a 69-65 lead with 3:43 remaining in the third quarter before the Pistons responded with a 10-1 run. Hamilton made a pair of baskets during the spurt and gave Detroit the lead for good at 71-70 on a layup with 66 seconds to go. Miller scored 11 points in the first quarter as Indiana jumped out to a 23-19 lead. But Detroit made 13-of-21 shots in the second, led by Barry, who scored 13 points in the quarter.
