Game StoryPHOENIX (Ticker) -- Stephon Marbury scored 11 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter as the Phoenix Suns posted a 116-107 victory over the Golden State Warriors. Marbury did most of his damage at the foul line, where he made a career-high 16 free throws in 17 attempts. Fittingly, he put Phoenix ahead to stay, snapping a 71-71 deadlock with a pair of free throws with 4:11 left in the third quarter. "They got to the foul line a tremendous amount tonight," Warriors coach Eric Musselman said. "Marbury got 17 attempts from the line. It's going to be tough to win when that happens." Marbury also had seven assists, five rebounds and three steals as Phoenix improved to 19-4 at home, tying San Antonio for the fourth-best mark in the NBA. "Those guys aren't a bad team," Marbury said. "They're a good team, so for us, we had to (raise) our energy level in the second half, and we did." Phoenix's Shawn Marion shot 14-of-21 from the field en route to 29 points and capped a 10-3 fourth-quarter run with a quick drive through the lane. Marion's layup gave the Suns a 104-93 advantage with 2:19 left. Golden State got within two points early in the final period thanks to Gilbert Arenas, who scored 20 of his 26 points in the fourth. Arenas shot 7-of-9 in the quarter while his teammates combined to go 4-of-18. The Warriors let the game slip away in the third quarter, when Phoenix shot just 26 percent (7-of-27). But the Suns still outscored the Warriors, 24-18, and led 81-76 after 36 minutes. "We were able to get out there and get some stops and hold them to 18 points," Suns coach Frank Johnson said. "I don't know if that was our defense or that they were just missing shots." Golden State had held a 58-57 halftime advantage but shot 31 percent (5-of-16) in the third quarter and committed nine turnovers. "They went into the half up one, but Coach came up with a great game plan," rookie Amare Stoudemire said. "We played great defense again, limited them to so many points, so many layups, and that's what we did." Marion led the Suns with 15 rebounds. Stoudemire added 15 points and seven boards. Arenas scored eight of his points in the final 90 seconds, but could not help the Warriors to edge back into the game as they were outscored by the Suns 12-10 during that span. Golden State lost for the 33rd time in its last 36 visits to Phoenix. "We're young and we've got to learn how to handle the pressure of playing on the road," said Warriors guard Jason Richardson, who had 19 points, six rebounds and six assists. "It's tough to come into another arena and get the victory and it's something that we definitely need to do a better job of if we want to be successful." Golden State is 6-15 on the road this season. Only six teams have won fewer games away from home.
