Game Story

TORONTO (Ticker) -- Antawn Jamison scored the last of his 32 points to put the Golden State Warriors ahead for good with 1:03 left in overtime on their way to a 118-114 victory over the Toronto Raptors. Jamison tapped in a missed layup by Gilbert Arenas to spark a 9-0 run after the Warriors allowed a seven-point lead to slip away in the final 18 seconds of regulation. "We've lost here the last couple of years and we never could find a way to win games," Jamison said. "We found a way to win. After we did go into the overtime period, everybody stayed positive and we didn't hang our heads." Arenas fouled Voshon Lenard on a 3-point attempt with 2.5 seconds left in the fourth quarter and Lenard made all three free throws to force overtime. "I knew I needed three," Lenard said. "I just tried to give us a chance to take it to overtime and get the `W.' Unfortunately, it did not turn out that way." Arenas, who shot just 2-of-14 from the field, redeemed himself by hitting four free throws in the final nine seconds of overtime to seal the win. "I wasn't on, but I did other things to help the team," Arenas said. "I rebounded and I hit free throws down the stretch." Arenas shot 11-of-12 from the line and collected nine rebounds and seven assists. Lenard led the Raptors with 26 points off the bench but did not score in overtime as Toronto's season-high four-game winning streak came to an end. Morris Peterson added 22 points and Vince Carter had 20. Jason Richardson scored 25 points for the Warriors but missed a foul shot with 8.6 seconds left that left Golden State with a 102-99 lead and opened the door for the Raptors. The Warriors remained perfect on a four-game road trip that concludes Sunday at Minnesota. "No question, the one thing we talked about prior to leaving for the All-Star break and then once we gathered again prior to our Atlanta game was we continued to talk about how we have to be a team that improves on the road," Warriors coach Eric Musselman said. "We've been a team that can beat good teams at home, but we've struggled on the road. So this is a major step for us, to come out the first three games post-All-Star break with wins." Earl Boykins scored 13 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter for Golden State. "He plays with a lot of confidence and brings a lot of energy," Carter said of the 5-5 Boykins. "He was a key factor for them tonight." Boykins has scored at least 10 points in the fourth quarter seven times this season, and Golden State has won six of those games. Adonal Foyle also had a strong effort off the bench for the Warriors with 13 rebounds and three blocked shots.
