Game StoryCHICAGO (Ticker) -- Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis scored 26 points apiece as the Seattle Supersonics posted an 101-94 overtime victory over the Chicago Bulls. Allen and Lewis combined to shoot 17-of-40 for Seattle, which shot 39 percent (35-of-89) overall and remained 2 1/2 games behind Phoenix for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. "We live to play another day," Seattle coach Nate McMillan said. "These guys really scrapped tonight." "We just need to have guys just play basketball and we need to beat the teams," Allen said. "It's a good positive situation for everybody. Some games, we've gotten beat when guys don't do their rotations or don't play defense. But I think for most part, guys are playing to their potential." Seattle won for the seventh time in nine games and improved to 14-7 since acquiring Allen, Kevin Ollie and Ronald Murray from Milwaukee for Gary Payton and Desmond Mason. The SuperSonics nearly lost the game in the final minutes of regulation when they fell behind, 85-82, with 2:16 remaining. But Allen hit a 3-pointer with 2:03 remaining to forge an 85-85 tie and, after Eddy Curry's hook shot gave Chicago a two-point lead with 80 seconds remaining, Elden Campbell hit a short jumper with 46 seconds left. Both teams had opportunities to take the lead in the final five seconds. But Jalen Rose hesitated and missed a short jumper and Lewis' 11-footer was short. In overtime, Jamal Crawford split a pair of foul shots to give Chicago its last lead at 88-87 with 4:16 remaining. But the Bulls went over two minutes without a point as Lewis scored four in a row to put Seattle ahead, 91-88, with 2:59 to go. Seattle clinched its fifth straight win at the United Center with 30 seconds left when Brent Barry hit a 41-foot 3-pointer with two seconds left on the shot clock. His initial 3-pointer was short and Campbell grabbed the rebound and found Barry open. Barry had seven points in the extra session and none were any bigger than his clutch 3-pointer. "On Brent's shot, we'll take it," McMillan said. "Most of the season, those shots have been going against us. He practices that shot a lot and many of the other guys do also. Tonight we definitely needed it." Curry collected 28 points and a career-high 15 rebounds and Crawford scored 18 of his 22 points after halftime for Chicago, which fell to 0-7 in overtime. Both players have really shown improvement of late and nearly led Chicago to the win. Curry had his fifth double-double of the season, while Crawford scored over 20 points for the seventh time. But both youngsters did little in overtime. Curry did not attempt a shot as the Sonics double-teamed him and Crawford missed a layup and three 3-pointers. "We're still learning each other and we are improving," Crawford said. "This was definitely a frustrating loss." The Sonics fell behind early but overcame 23 percent (5-of-22) shooting in the first quarter and took a 45-40 lead at halftime. As the second half began, Allen scored five points as Seattle used a 13-5 spurt to build a 58-45 advantage with 6:10 remaining. But the Bulls responded with a 13-4 run to get within 62-58 with 1:46 to play. "I really like the way we came out and played that third quarter," Chicago coach Bill Cartwright said. "We played hard and got ourselves back. Obviously, we had the last shot to win the game. We work on those (situations) and will continue to work on them."
