Game StoryMILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Tim Thomas waited until the fourth quarter to haunt the New York Knicks this time. Thomas scored 12 of his 23 points in the final period to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to their second victory in four days over the Knicks, 90-87. Milwaukee rallied for a 106-90 victory at New York on Wednesday as Thomas scored 19 of 22 points after halftime. Thomas did it again by making 5-of-9 shots in the fourth period to help the Bucks withstand a surge by red-hot Allan Houston. "It was nice to see him have hopefully a breakout game tonight. Hopefully he can use this as a springboard game," Bucks coach Terry Porter said. Thomas' seven straight points gave Milwaukee the lead for good at 77-71 with 8:12 left. He nailed a 3-pointer from the left wing for an 84-78 advantage with 4:27 to go. Houston, who totaled 74 points in the last two games, kept New York in the game with a pair of clutch 3-pointers around one by Milwaukee's Michael Redd, cutting the deficit to 84-81 with 1:44 remaining. The Knicks had a pair of chances to tie in the final minute, but Shandon Anderson and Charlie Ward each missed 3-pointers. "The game could have gone either way, it is about making shots and making plays," Knicks coach Don Chaney said. Joe Smith's foul shot made it 88-84 with 18 seconds remaining before Anderson made it a one-point game five seconds later with a 3-pointer. After Bucks rookie T.J. Ford made a pair at the line, Ward shot an airball 3-pointer from the top of the key as time expired. Houston scored 19 of his 28 points in the second half. Keith Van Horn added 20 points as the Knicks fell to the Bucks for the fifth time in six games. "The lack of execution in the fourth was big for us," Houston said. "To me that was more disappointing than anything. It's a tough loss because you can't put your finger on one big thing, a lot of little things hurt you." The Bucks got a needed boost from Joe Smith, who collected 10 points and 15 rebounds. Smith was the linchpin behind 23 second-chance points on 16 offensive rebounds. "That's something we're working on since day one, trying to limit opponents to one shot and on the offensive end - crash the boards as hard as we can," Smith said. Thomas and Redd combined to make 19-of-38 shots. Redd finished with 22 points and Ford shook off 1-of-6 shooting to hand out six assists, using his speed to victimize Knicks counterpart Charlie Ward. "We have a lot of talent on this team, one any given night guys can step up," Redd said. "Tonight it was a team effort. He did a phenomenal job rebounding, Tim carried us." Houston made 4-of-5 from the 3-point arc and Van Horn was 3-of-5. But Van Horn did not have a basket in the second half as the Bucks double-teamed him. "When the defense takes out a key player, we have to make sure we make the extra pass and make the shot," Chaney said. Outside of Houston and Van Horn, the Knicks shot just 37.5 percent (18-of-48) from the floor.
