Game StoryPHOENIX (Ticker) -- Dion Glover scored a season-high 23 points and hit the biggest of 10 3-pointers by the Atlanta Hawks in a 99-94 victory over the Phoenix Suns. With 1:22 left, Glover made a 3-pointer from the right corner to give the Hawks a 95-91 lead and stem a rally by the Suns, who had trailed by 10 points early in the fourth quarter. Glover is averaging 17.1 points over the last six games, helping the Hawks go 3-3 after an 0-3 start. "Dion Glover is playing solid right now," said Hawks guard Jason Terry, who scored 17 points. "He is our starting shooting guard and he needs to get shots, and stay consistent like he has been over the past few games." Shawn Marion responded with a 3-pointer, but the Suns did not score again and Terry and Glover each hit two free throws in the final 20 seconds to seal the win - Atlanta's first in the Valley of the Sun since November 15, 1991 at the old Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The Hawks were winless in their first 10 visits to America West Arena since it opened in 1992. Atlanta went 2-3 on its road trip. "The 10-game losing streak here in America West is something for the press to write about," Atlanta coach Terry Stotts said. "I'm just happy that we got two wins on the road." Glover shot 4-of-5 from the arc, leading an attack that made 10-of-21 3-pointers. The Hawks shot 46 percent (37-of-81) overall. "Defensively we weren't in tune to what we are normally on top of," Suns coach Frank Johnson said. "They shot the ball very well from the 3-point line." Stephen Jackson scored 18 points, including back-to-back 3-pointers to open the final quarter and give the Hawks a 79-72 lead. After a dunk by rookie Zarko Cabarkapa cut the deficit to five points, Atlanta surged to a double-digit lead on a jumper by Theo Ratliff and a 3-pointer by Terry. "Stephen Jackson hit some big shots down the stretch," Marbury said. "Their stretch really started in the third quarter. Whenever you put yourself in a situation to win a game and you can't pull it off, it's hard." Marion and Marbury scored 22 points each.
