Game StoryMEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Mike Miller jump-started a big run with a pair of long jump shots. Miller nailed back-to-back 3-pointers to trigger a key run as the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Atlanta Hawks, 103-90, for their franchise record-tying sixth straight victory. Miller scored 22 points and Earl Watson added a season-high 20, nine assists and six rebounds filling in again for injured point guard Jason Williams as the Grizzlies matched their team-record winning streak set from March 5-16. Paul Gasol collected 17 points and 10 rebounds and Bonzi Wells chipped in 12 points for Memphis, which improved to just 4-12 all-time against Atlanta. The Grizzlies trailed, 63-62, before Miller hit the first of consecutive shots from the arc with two minutes remaining in the third quarter, starting a 20-5 run and giving the team the lead for good. "I had been getting looks in transition during the game and my teammates got me the ball for a couple of open looks," Miller said. "We pushed the transition game and we got open looks tonight." "What he did tonight doesn't surprise me at all," Memphis coach Hubie Brown said. "I've always felt this was how he was going to play. He's just a player. He's not a 1, he's not a 2, he's not a 3 - he's just a player." Bo Outlaw capped the burst with a tip-in that made it 82-68 with 6:28 left. Atlanta got no closer than nine points thereafter. Jason Terry scored 19 points and Shareef Abdur-Rahim added 12 and 15 rebounds against his former team for Atlanta, which has lost five of its last six games. "We have to stay together as a team," Abdur-Rahim said. "We have to build confidence by putting together a couple wins in a row." The Grizzlies, who trailed by 11 points early in the second quarter before pulling within 47-41 at the break, outscored the Hawks, 29-16, in the third quarter, shooting 52 percent (12-of-23) and limiting Atlanta to 35 percent (7-of-20). "We had a tough stretch in the third where we couldn't make shots," Abdur-Rahim said. "I can't say it was anything they were doing because we just missed open shots. We were missing layups." Stephen Jackson, who was coming off a one-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team, scored 14 points in 30 minutes off the bench. "That's all over now," Jackson said. "Everything is fine now and that's all over with. It's just one of those things."
