Game StoryCLEVELAND (Ticker) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers pulled away once Ricky Davis came to life. Carlos Boozer scored a career-high 28 points and Davis had 13 of his 15 in the second half as the Cavaliers snapped an eight-game losing streak against the Detroit Pistons with a 95-86 victory. Davis, who led Cleveland in scoring each of the last two seasons, has struggled to find his place following the arrival of rookie phenom LeBron James. But he infused the Cavaliers with energy in the second half of this one as they dominated one of the NBA's best defensive teams. Cleveland never trailed in the second half and had a 55-54 lead with seven minutes left in the third quarter before scoring 22 of the next 29 points. Davis made a pair of free throws early in the run and assisted on a jumper by Zydrunas Ilgauskas before capping a fast break with a reverse dunk for a 64-56 cushion with 2:51 left. "Ricky played well," said Cleveland coach Paul Silas, who has benched Davis at times this season. "When I needed him in the second half, he came through." "He had a slow first half but kept his head in the game," Cavaliers center Chris Mihm added. "He hit some huge buckets, especially in the fourth quarter." Boozer finished the third quarter with a dunk, sparking a stretch of seven straight points for the Cavaliers. Davis opened the fourth with a layup and Boozer followed with five straight points - a dunk and three free throws - for a 77-61 cushion less than three minutes into the final period. David had a pair of dunks 33 seconds apart in the fourth. His second slam in traffic with 5:58 to go made it 83-68 and gave him 13 points in an 11 1/2-minute span. "This was the best I've seen Ricky Davis play all-around," Detroit coach Larry Brown said. "That team played great." James had 23 points and nine assists, helping Cleveland beat Detroit for the first time since December 4, 2001. He sank consecutive baskets to put away the game, including a tough fallaway jumper over Richard Hamilton with 3 1/2 minutes remaining. Boozer made 11-of-16 shots and Zydrunas Ilgauskas was 5-of-7 as the Cavaliers shot a season-high 53 percent (35-of-66) to overcome 24 turnovers. Their high percentage was a result of easy shots as they outscored the Pistons in the paint, 46-22. "This was by far our most complete game of the season. It was almost picture perfect," Silas said. "Everybody played within themselves and together. Normally when we need a hoop, we can't find it. Tonight the entire team gave a superb effort." Hamilton, who scored a career-high 44 points against the Cavaliers on November 28, had 19. Chauncey Billups - Detroit's leading scorer - was held to 11 on 5-of-14 shooting. Detroit shot just 36 percent (28-of-78) from the floor and has lost three in a row following a four-game losing streak. "We're playing losing basketball right now," said Pistons center Ben Wallace, who had 10 points and nine rebounds. "I take the blame. It's my fault for letting a lot guys come out there and give a (half-hearted) effort."
