Game StoryPORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) -- Home continued to be a cure-all for the Portland Trail Blazers, while the Dallas Mavericks still look sickly on the road. Zach Randolph scored 27 points and combined with Damon Stoudamire to key a late run as the Trail Blazers held on for a 97-88 victory over the Mavericks. Portland is the only winless road team in the NBA but has been superb at the Rose Garden, where it has won 13 of 17 games. "We know we're good enough to win anywhere," Randolph said. "But it's nice to get back on track at home." Dallas, which boasted the NBA's best road record last season, is just 3-10 away from home, losing six of its last seven. "We've been spoiled now the last few years," Mavericks coach Don Nelson said. "We haven't played well enough really to win against a good team. That's the bottom line." The Trail Blazers led by as many as 16 points but were clinging to an 86-84 edge in the fourth quarter before Randolph made an acrobatic lefthanded layup to spark a game-ending 11-4 run. Stoudamire followed a miss by Rasheed Wallace and, after Antawn Jamison made a layup for the Mavericks, buried a 3-pointer for a 93-86 cushion with 2:59 left. Randolph followed with a layup and capped the scoring with a jumper. "We just kept playing," Randolph said. "We kept our poise tonight. We played the whole game, all 48 minutes. The coach challenged us in the locker room and we picked up the challenge." Stoudamire finished with 16 points and seven assists and Jeff McInnis added 14 and 10 for Portland, which shot 53 percent (97-88) from the floor. Jamison scored half of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, but Dallas' big three of Dirk Nowitzki, Michael Finley and Steve Nash combined for just 22 points on 8-of-29 shooting, including 2-of-13 from 3-point range. Still bothered by an ankle injury, Nowitzki managed just six points on 3-of-12 shooting and Nash was 0-of-5 from the floor en route to four points. "It's hard for me to watch Dirk play," Nelson said. "His ankles are hurting him and he's playing on eggshells out there. He is definitely capable of playing better than he did tonight." Dallas shot just 43 percent (33-of-77) from the floor, including 4-of-16 from 3-point range, and has lost a season-high four in a row overall. "We just feel like we are at rock bottom," Nash said. "We know what rock bottom is," Nelson said. "I've been here long enough to know, and we're not close to that."
