Game Story

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Damon Jones and Michael Redd owned the Indiana Pacers in the fourth quarter. Jones, a reserve, scored all 14 of his points and Redd 11 of his 26 in the final period as the Milwaukee Bucks rallied from a double-digit deficit to defeat the Pacers, 101-96. Toni Kukoc added 15 points and seven assists for the Bucks, who have won three straight games for the first time since winning their final four contests last season. The Bucks erased a 10-point deficit entering the fourth quarter, tying the game at 85-85 on a 3-pointer by Jones with 6:54 remaining. "I got some great looks," said Jones, who went 4-of-5 from the arc. "Toni Kukoc is a great post-up player, so he was finding me spotting up and I was hitting some shots." Indiana held a 96-94 lead before Jones made a layup and Redd a 3-pointer that gave Milwaukee the lead for good with 1:14 left. "The energy from the crowd was awesome tonight, it was like a playoff atmosphere here," Redd said. "The crowd really helped us down the stretch. We fed off their juice and their energy." Jermaine O'Neal had a shot blocked by Joe Smith and Reggie Miller missed two 3-point attempts down the stretch for Indiana, which made half of its 76 shots but allowed Milwaukee to connect on 55 percent (36-of-66). "We got a couple of looks there," Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said. "We didn't have any timeouts and we needed looks. Both of Reggie's looks had a chance. It's a disappointing game." "They both looked like they were going right in," said Pacers forward Al Harrington, who had 13 points off the bench. "Those were both shots that we can live with. I thought they were going in." O'Neal collected 27 points and 11 rebounds, Ron Artest added 18 points and Anthony Johnson 16 for the Pacers. "They are deep and shoot the ball well," Carlisle said of the Bucks. "(But) when you give up 34 in the fourth quarter, you deserve to be beat. We pride ourselves on being a defensive team, you can't let that happen." Indiana scored the first 14 points of the game and held a 19-4 lead midway through the first quarter before Milwaukee stormed back to take a 28-27 lead on a 3-pointer by Kukoc just over two minutes into the second period. "The coaching staff tried to tell them (the Pacers) were going to come out aggressive early," Bucks coach Terry Porter said. "They're the best team in the East, we beat them in their home opener. They were definitely going to come out and make a statement and they did a great job early on. I can't say enough about our guys coming back and competing and giving ourselves a chance to win the ballgame." "I don't know what it was, we just lost the game," Artest said. "It was one of the more disappointing losses. We only had 11 turnovers, they never led by more than five. I don't know how we lost that game, I have to look at the tape."
