Game StoryDENVER (Ticker) -- Carmelo Anthony was the best rookie in the first half. But Chris Bosh was the best rookie when it mattered most. Bosh scored all 11 of his points in the third quarter and Anthony struggled in the second half as the Toronto Raptors posted an 81-74 victory over the Denver Nuggets. Bosh was selected fourth overall in June's NBA draft, one pick after Anthony, who entered the league with plenty more hype after leading Syracuse to the national title as a freshman last season. Anthony got off to the better start, scoring 16 points while making 6-of-9 shots in the opening half. Bosh, who left Georgia Tech after his freshman season, missed his only shot and committed two fouls in the half. It was a different story in the second half as Anthony scored just three points on 1-of-8 shooting, a 3-pointer at the end of the third quarter. Bosh went 5-of-9 from the field in the second half and also finished with 12 rebounds. "I just didn't want to rush anything, I just wanted to be some kind of threat," Bosh said. "I had open looks and capitalized on those." "Chris played great," Raptors coach Kevin O'Neill said. "I thought he played his best game in maybe a long time. It was good to see. He really carried us in the third quarter when we struggled." Voshon Lenard scored 17 points and Andre Miller 13 for the Nuggets, whose three-game winning streak ended due to a woeful fourth quarter. Trailing 67-63 entering the final period, the Nuggets went scoreless for over six minutes at one point and managed just 11 points while making just 4-of-21 shots. Five points came with under a minute remaining, when the Raptors already had control. "We are going to lose games, but tonight the way we lost really disturbed me," Nuggets coach Jeff Bzdelik said. "We lost respect for the game tonight. There was a lack of concentration and effort." "Let's to be honest, they missed a lot of open shots," O'Neill said. "I thought we played hard defensively. We did a good job of not giving them transition baskets. I thought our team defense and rebounding was solid all night long." A jumper by Lenard gave the Nuggets a 46-41 lead with 10:22 left in the third quarter, but the Raptors used a 15-6 run to take the lead for good. Bosh had six points in the decisive spurt.
