Game StoryBOSTON (Ticker) -- Paul Pierce had an off shooting night but got plenty of help from his teammates as the Boston Celtics snapped a three-game home losing streak. Pierce had 19 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists, and five other Celtics scored in double figures en route to a 101-93 victory over the Orlando Magic. "It felt good to finally get a little monkey off our back," Pierce said. "We took care of business and that's what we needed to do." Starting guard Mike James led Boston with 21 points and Jiri Welsch had 13. Ricky Davis and Walter McCarty had 13 points apiece while Chris Mihm added 11 and 11 rebounds as they picked up the slack for Pierce, who made just 6-of-17 shots. Pierce also committed nine turnovers and received a technical foul with 6:29 left in the third quarter after throwing the basketball to the other end of the court in anger over a traveling violation called against him. After the game, he celebrated by punting the ball across the court. "I was upset the first time (when he received the technical)," Pierce said. "I didn't throw the ball far enough so I had to do it again." Boston was without forward Vin Baker. On Tuesday, the Celtics suspended Baker three games and fined him an undisclosed sum for failing to comply with his treatment program for alcohol abuse. Tracy McGrady scored 28 points and rookie Keith Bogans had a season-high 19 for the Magic, who lost their sixth consecutive game. Orlando has also lost six straight road games. Orlando used a 14-2 fourth-quarter run to cut the deficit to 92-86 with three minutes left but got no closer. "We found ourselves down again and against a team with the quality of scorers that they have, it makes it difficult to come back," Orlando coach Johnny Davis said. "Even though we gave it a try at the end, we fell short." "We just have to try to get a win and see if we can build off of that," McGrady said. "We're sitting on six losses in a row and I know that in the back of everybody's mind is are we going to be on another 19-game losing streak?" Defense continues to be a problem for Orlando as it allowed an opponent to top 100 points for the sixth consecutive game. The Celtics were able to execute their offense with ease early in the game. Davis especially benefited from the Magic's poor defense. He scored 12 points, hitting his first shots and first two free throws to help Boston build a 42-31 lead with 9:30 left in the second quarter. "I pretty much have gotten to know everybody and their games it's just a matter of coach leaving me out there," Davis said. "You kind of expect that out of Ricky Davis," Pierce said. "He's a starter in this league. He's coming off the bench right now and he's giving us a lot of energy, and that's a guy who's capable of getting us 30-40 points." Orlando began to slow down Boston in the third quarter when it switched to a 2-3 zone defense. But Boston scored the first 10 points of the fourth period to build a 90-72 advantage with 8:15 remaining.
