Game Story

MIAMI (Ticker) -- Eddie Jones and Lamar Odom helped the Miami Heat rebound from their worst offensive game of the season. Jones and Odom combined for 52 points as the Heat posted a 102-95 victory over the Chicago Bulls. The Heat managed a season-low 65 points and shot just 33 percent in Monday's home loss to the Indiana Pacers. But thanks to Jones and Odom, they returned to the form they flashed five days ago, when they scored a season-high 112 against Orlando. "It was just nice to have a game like this after a tough game on Monday night," Odom said. "We showed a lot of character and resolve." Jones scored 27 points on 8-of-15 shooting and Odom had 25 on 10-of-16 from the field. Odom also grabbed 11 rebounds and made three steals. "We're getting a good feel for one another on the court," Jones said. "With Dwyane (rookie Dwyane Wade) out, it's important to make the adjustment and continue to create scoring opportunities." Miami shot 54 percent (38-of-70) as it eclipsed 50 percent for just the third time this season. "We couldn't stop them," Bulls coach Scott Skiles said. "They are not a high shooting team and they shot 54 percent. On the rare occasion where we did make them miss, we couldn't get a rebound." Ronald Dupree, who signed a 10-day contract earlier in the day, scored 18 points to lead the Bulls. "I got in a rhythm," said Dupree, who made 7-of-11 shots. "My teammates got me involved early." In the loss to Indiana, Miami was horrendous in the second half, when it scored just 24 points. But the Heat had no such struggles in this contest, scoring 30 points while shooting 61 percent (14-of-32) in the third quarter. The big third quarter helped the Heat turn a two-point deficit into a 76-70 lead. "We were very efficient in the half-court tonight and executed well," Heat coach Stan Van Gundy said. "We've been pretty good against the zone all year." A jumper by Caron Butler, who scored a season-high 19 points, gave the Heat an 83-75 advantage with 8:54 remaining.
