Game Story

PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Voshon Lenard and the Denver Nuggets appear to have the Phoenix Suns' number. Lenard scored 32 points to lead the Nuggets to a second easy victory over the Suns this season, 105-92. Marcus Camby added 16 points and 17 rebounds for Denver, which led by as many as 32 points late in the third quarter before Phoenix made the score respectable. The Nuggets posted their biggest victory of the season with a 110-80 triumph over the Suns in Denver on November 25. "I don't know what it is, it is probably because we are so familiar with them," Camby said. "We play them twice a year in the preseason. We're familiar with a lot of their sets." In this one, Denver scored the game's first nine points and jumped out to a 20-4 lead after 7 1/2 minutes. The Nuggets held a 32-15 advantage after one quarter and 57-36 at the break, and the Suns got no closer than the final score. "A solid start-to-finish win," Nuggets coach Jeff Bzdelik said. "Voshon was able to get some open looks and he is a very good open shooter." Playing in his second contest since missing 19 games with a badly sprained ankle, Amare Stoudemire scored 28 points and Shawn Marion added 23 for Phoenix, which lost its sixth straight game. "What we need to do at this point is just carry over everything from the practice court onto the game court," Marion said. "We are coming together in our practice sessions and we look real good. We just need to find a way to make it all happen in the games now." "It's pretty frustrating," Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said. "We had all good intentions, we made a point of coming out and playing hard, but there are no excuses." The Suns are 0-4 since trading Stephon Marbury and Penny Hardaway to New York on January 5. "The first time that we played this Denver team we had a different cast, and we are still going through groing pains with all of the new guys on the team," Stoudemire said. "But as long as we keep working hard, it should all come together." "They've been struggling lately," Lenard said. "I'm glad they were struggling when we came in and didn't have the confidence they had a few weeks ago. I thought we caught them on a good night where they just made trades and everybody is not really together and know what they're doing right now."
