Game StoryDALLAS (Ticker) -- Antoine Walker never had this much help when he faced Kenyon Martin. Walker scored 19 of his 22 points in the second half to lead a balanced attack as the Dallas Mavericks extended their winning streak to a season-high five games with a 106-93 victory over the New Jersey Nets. Walker spent the first seven years of his career with the Boston Celtics. Over the last three seasons, he often was matched against Martin, who dominated the battle. With the high-powered Mavericks, Walker has many other offensive weapons around him. He seemed much more relaxed against Martin in this one especially in the second half, when he made 9-of-14 shots. "I think right now, it's different," said Walker, who went 10-of-19 from the field. "We have so many offensive weapons. I'm kind of in a situation where it's very difficult for one guy to guard me - and any of us on our team - because we have so many weapons. You can kind of do other things on the floor to get yourself going." "They put you in different spots," Martin said. "They put everybody in different spots because all of those guys are interchangeable. It's just tough to defend them." Walker was one of five starters in double figures for the Mavericks, who took the lead for good late in the first quarter en route to their seventh straight win over the Nets. Martin, a Dallas native, scored 29 points and Richard Jefferson added 21 for the Nets, who have lost three in a row and four of their last five games. The teams combined for 11 turnovers, the fewest in NBA history. Dallas tied a team record with four. New Jersey will have a tough time avoiding matching its longest losing streak of the season as they play at San Antonio on Wednesday in a rematch of last year's NBA Finals. Steve Nash, who was questionable with a sore rib, gave the Mavericks the lead for good with 2:38 left in the first quarter. He scored 18 points and handed out five assists in 36 minutes. Dallas led by as many as 15 points in the second quarter and settled for a 54-41 advantage at the break. Dirk Nowitzki scored 15 of his 19 points in the opening half. The Mavericks still led by double digits after three quarters, but the Nets pulled within 96-90 with 3:46 remaining on a dunk by Kerry Kittles. But Antawn Jamison converted a layup, Michael Finley made two free throws and Nowitzki fed Walker for a layup with 1:51 to go, rebuilding the lead to double digits. "We had them close, and that is what you want on the road," said Nets point guard Jason Kidd, who collected 10 points and 12 assists. "We had it at six, two threes, or a basket there gets it to four. Now it becomes getting stops on the other end. Unfortunately, we just didn't get that tonight." Finley netted 18 points and rookie Josh Howard 11 for the Mavericks, who shot 46 percent (40-of-87), made eight 3-pointers and held a commanding 52-38 rebounding advantage.
