Game StoryMEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- The Memphis Grizzlies showed the Sacramento Kings they have a long memory. Jason Williams scored 14 of his 25 points in a hot-shooting first half as the Grizzlies raced to a big early lead and cruised to their franchise-record seventh straight win, a 109-95 victory over the tired Kings. The Grizzlies avenged a 114-97 loss at Sacramento on December 23 in which Kings forward Peja Stojakovic scored 41 points, including a handful after the outcome had been decided. Memphis swingman James Posey got into an argument with Stojakovic and was ejected. Coming off a 37-point explosion with six 3-pointers at Cleveland on Thursday, Stojakovic was booed every time he touched the ball. During a decisive run at the end of the first half, he was stripped by Posey, who was flagrantly fouled by Kings forward Brad Miller and got into Miller's face. "They (crowd) felt the same way I felt, probably," said Posey, who scored 12 points. "We didn't forget, and they didn't forget. They've been waiting for this and it was a big part, to have a couple thousand people voicing their opinion. It rattled them a bit." "I don't think it had anything to do with the game," said Stojakovic, who scored just 11 points on 5-of-13 shooting and did not make a 3-pointer. "At least you don't get coins and lighters thrown at your head. Booing happens more often in Europe." Williams made 8-of-15 shots - including 5-of-7 from the arc - and handed out 10 assists in one of his best all-around games of the season. He made 3-pointers to bookend a 16-7 run that closed the half and gave Memphis a 62-47 lead. Mike Miller scored 16 of his season-high 27 points in the first half, when the Grizzlies shot a sizzling 56 percent (25-of-45) and held the Kings to 36 percent (17-of-44). "We shot the ball well and we shut down Peja," siad Grizzlies forward Pau Gasol, who scored 20 points. "That's the key right there. They didn't play comfortable. I think we took them out of their game and we ran well, played our game." "Jason Williams and Mike Miller were terrific," Kings coach Rick Adelman said. "They made every open shot they had." The Grizzlies have rebounded from a seven-game losing streak to win nine of 10. Their hot streak surpassed a pair of six-game runs, most recently from November 29-December 10. Sacramento appeared tired after Thursday's 95-89 win at Cleveland, the opener of a six-game road trip. The trek continues with the "Texas Triangle" through Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. "It's part of the league," Adelman said. "This is our fourth (game) in five nights. We've been in three different time zones, so I'm sure that was part of it." Vlade Divac had 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Kings, who got no closer than 13 points in the second half. They shot 38.5 percent (35-of-91) while allowing the Grizzlies to shoot 51 percent (40-of-78).
