Game StoryCLEVELAND (Ticker) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers welcomed back LeBron James and overcame some hot shooting by Tracy McGrady to end a five-game losing streak against the Orlando Magic. Dajuan Wagner scored 21 points and James added 16 to lift Cleveland to a 99-98 victory over Orlando, the Cavaliers' fifth victory in six games. James missed the previous three games with a sprained right ankle and returned as the shooting guard. The star rookie was the starting point guard before his injury but Cleveland acquired Jeff McInnis from Portland Saturday and started him at that position Monday. McGrady nearly spoiled James' return, tying an NBA record for 3-pointers made in a half by shooting 8-of-8 from beyond the arc in the first two quarters and finishing with 36 points. "I was feeling good, and when you're in a zone you just feel like you can't miss," McGrady said. "I definitely had that feeling. When I get in zones like that, I feel like whoever is defending me is really at my mercy." "He was on fire," James said. "He was going for 50 (points) tonight, I can tell you that. He was awesome. He had 34 points at halftime and there were hands in his face (on his shots) so there's nothing you can do about that. That was the best shooting (performance) I've seen by far." All but two of McGrady's points came in the first half. He left with 6:31 left in the third quarter with with a sprained left big toe. Orlando also lost Drew Gooden, who sat out the second half with a strained left hip flexor. "It's pretty disappointing," McGrady said about his injury. "No. 1, you've got the LeBron - T-Mac matchup and everybody was hyped to see. Then you're knocking down shots and your team is winning and to go out with an injury is frustrating." A layup by Carlos Boozer put Cleveland up for good, 95-94, with 1:56 remaining, but the Cavaliers nearly squandered their lead. Eric Williams missed two free throws with seven seconds left in the fourth but Orlando guard Rod Strickland's runner fell short at the buzzer. Boozer had another strong outing with 23 points and 16 rebounds as Cleveland won its second straight game. Juwan Howard had 21 points and 13 rebounds while Shammond Williams scored 14 for Orlando, which lost for the 10th time in 11 road games. "It was very disappointing because we fought hard," Howard said. "We just weren't able to get the victory, they hit some tough shots down the stretch and brought the momentum in their favor and their fans really got into it." Cleveland had not defeated Orlando since February 24, 2001. Orlando went on a 13-4 run to build a 79-68 lead with 2:23 left in the third. But Cleveland responded with a 19-6 run to build a 87-85 lead with 6:34 to go in the fourth.
