Game StorySEATTLE (Ticker) -- Antoine Walker hit a jumper at the buzzer to give the Dallas Mavericks their season-high ninth straight win, 118-116 over the Seattle SuperSonics. Dirk Nowitzki nailed 8-of-11 3-pointers and scored a career-high 43 points as the Mavericks stretched their road winning streak to a season-best four games. Dallas' overall win streak is its longest since starting last season with 17 victories. "If you look back a month or a month and a half, there is no way we would have won that game," Nowitzki said. "The chemistry is a lot better out there, we have the rhythm out there as a team. I think we are just having a good mix right now." Mavericks guard Steve Nash made a 3-pointer to tie it, 116-116, with 36 seconds left. But both teams squandered chances to go ahead on their next possessions. Rashard Lewis missed a layup with 21 seconds remaining, then fouled Nowitzki out of frustration. After Nowitzki missed both free throws, Ray Allen appeared to draw a foul but no call was made as he misfired on a layup, setting the stage for Walker's heroics. "I would like to see the videotape to determine what it looked like but the referees, it seemed like they were in a bad position all night," Allen said. "They were seeing things that I didn't see." "That was nice," Walker said. "I was just trying to slash and get a shot in that little corner area. I just got a good pass." Nash finished with 19 points while Walker and Michael Finley added 17 apiece. "Either team deserved to win," Mavericks coach Don Nelson said. "Nobody deserved to lose this game. As it turned out, we had an opportunity at the buzzer." Lewis scored 30 points for Seattle, which had a two-game winning streak snapped. Antonio Daniels contributed 21 points off the bench and Allen chipped in 20. "I think we did a good job of finding the open guy and taking what the defense was giving us," Allen said. "In the fourth quarter, we made some shots and missed some, but sometimes you rely on a call from a referee and tonight, it didn't go our way." Defense did not seem a priority for either team. Seattle outshot Dallas, 54 percent (43-of-79) to 48 percent (43-of-89) and led 61-58 at halftime. Seattle guard Brent Barry sat out the second half with a broken bone on his right hand and will be evaluated Wednesday by a hand specialist. Nowitzki scored 17 points in the third quarter, hitting 5-of-5 3-pointers, to help Dallas take a 92-88 lead into the final period. The rest of the Mavericks finished 3-of-15 from beyond the arc. "My jumper was feeling pretty good and I was able to find my rhythm pretty quick," Nowitzki said. "You've got to give our team credit, they always looked for me and they always found me." Dallas led 101-92 with 8:23 remaining, but Seattle responded with a 12-3 run over the next four minutes to tie it.
