Game StoryORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- NBA scoring champion Tracy McGrady topped 40 points for the second consecutive night to help the Orlando Magic end a couple of losing streaks. McGrady scored 43 points to help the Magic snap an eight-game slide and a five-game home skid with a 90-77 victory over the Utah Jazz. "Guys took some pride in what they needed to do tonight," McGrady said. "Last night we had a nonchalant attitude about the game." McGrady scored 27 points in the second half before leaving with 40 seconds remaining when he aggravated a lingering back injury. The All-Star guard poured in 41 points Tuesday as Milwaukee routed Orlando, 127-104. After the game, McGrady chastised his teammates for lack of effort. "The whole thing is that it shouldn't take for me to bad-mouth the team to get a performance out of guys," McGrady said. "I mean it's just ridiculous. ... Tonight, they had more pride and more focus and came out and played." McGrady received more help in this one. Juwan Howard added 20 points and nine rebounds while Gordan Giricek contributed 15 points for Orlando. Carlos Arroyo scored 14 points for the Jazz, who have lost three straight games. All-Star Andrei Kirilenko and Raul Lopez added 12 points apiece as Utah lost for the ninth time in its last 12 away from home. "Tracy McGrady scored 43 points," said Kirilenko, who defended McGrady for most of the game. "We did not do a good job on him. ... I think him and Juwan Howard and Gordan Giricek in the third quarter, won the game for them." Greg Ostertag's layup cut the deficit to 50-45 with 4:50 left in the third quarter. Orlando responded with a 20-8 run to build a 70-53 cushion with 10:53 to go. McGrady scored the first 10 points of the spurt. McGrady entered the game as the NBA's leading scorer, averaging 27.5 points. "He's coming to play every night," Magic coach Johnny Davis said. "There's been no dropoff in his game and as a matter of fact, he's upped his game and we need that from him every night. He did it all for us in terms of both ends of the floor." His tongue-lashing seemed to fire his teammates up early. They seemed to play with extra energy in the first quarter and built a 22-17 lead. But Utah kept the game close behind solid rebounding and the scoring efforts of Arroyo and Lopez. Arroyo and Lopez combined for 15 points in the first half while the Jazz finished with 21 offensive rebounds.
