Game StoryPHOENIX (Ticker) -- The New Jersey Nets came crashing back to reality without All-NBA point guard Jason Kidd. The Nets absorbed their 10th straight loss in phoenix, suffering an 87-74 setback to the Suns, who got 32 points from Amare Stoudemire. After Tuesday's hard-fought 95-91 victory at Denver without Kidd, the Nets looked lost offensively without their floor general. "He is one of the best players in the league, so you are going to miss him, but this is who we had in uniform," New Jersey coach Lawrence Frank said. "It is no excuse." The Nets shot just 39 percent (24-of-61) from the field and recorded just nine assists, less than Kidd averages by himself. Among the league leaders in fast-break points, New Jersey did not score in transition for the first time since Kidd joined the team before the 2001-02 season. "(Our transition game) was sitting on the sideline in a suit," All-Star forward Kenyon Martin said. A former Sun, Kidd missed his second straight game with a bruised left knee. He is not expected to play for the rest of the four-game road trip. Phoenix dominated inside, outscoring New Jersey, 46-20, in the paint and holding a 46-33 advantage in rebounds. The 74 points scored by the Nets are a season-low for a Suns opponent. "We came out tonight and attacked them as if Jason Kidd were playing," Phoenix forward Shawn Marion said. "We tried to take them out of everything they wanted to do." "We could have had more energy out there," New Jersey guard Kerry Kittles said. "They were getting the loose balls and were much quicker out there. We were flat, we didn't have it." Stoudemire was unstoppable, making 14-of-20 shots and grabbing 11 rebounds. Joe Johnson scored 14 points and collected seven rebounds for Phoenix, which has won three of four. The 6-10 forward has led Phoenix in scoring for 10 straight games. The last Sun to lead the team in scoring in more than 10 consecutive contests was Charles Barkley who did so 11 times in the 1994-85 season. "It's the comfort level that we are playing with right now," Stoudemire said. "I'm confortable with my role and confidence is coming back at the offensive end." The second-year forward has also scored 20 or more points in 10 straight games and recorded his first back-to-back 30-point contests. "When we get (Amare) the ball in the right places, he takes care of business," Marion said. "The last few games he has been putting up big numbers and giving us that extra energy that we need to win games." Richard Jefferson led the Nets with 26 points. Kittles, who scored a season-high 34 points Tuesday, was 3-of-9 for seven points.
