Game StoryPORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) -- Theo Ratliff was a defensive force in regulation and turned up his offense in overtime. Ratliff converted a three-point play with 1:45 remaining in the extra period and blocked six shots as the Portland Trail Blazers pulled out a 115-108 victory over the Seattle SuperSonics, who had a season-high seven-game winning streak stopped. Atop the league in blocked shots, Ratliff had a huge game on defense, contesting most of Seattle's inside shots. He also scored 18 points, including a three-point play that gave Portland a 109-105 lead. "When I got that rebound and got that three-point play, that really put them in a bad situation," Ratliff said. Seattle got within one point on Rashard Lewis' 3-pointer at the 1:22 mark. But Derek Anderson, who scored 22 points, countered with a jumper to give Portland a 111-108 advantage with 59 seconds to play. Portland (37-35) went 3-1 on its homestand and is one-half game behind Utah for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Trail Blazers embark on a three-game road trip against teams from the East vying for playoff spots. "We can't worry about what everyone else is doing," Portland coach Maurice Cheeks said. "If we stay focused on the task at hand, we'll be fine." Ray Allen scored 32 points for Seattle (34-39), which fell four games behind Utah. "It's disapointing to do the things we have in the past couple of weeks and see this one get away like it did," SuperSonics guard Brent Barry said. "It's disheartening to lose the streak this way." Portland failed several times to close out the game in the fourth quarter. The Trail Blazers grabbed a 91-86 lead on Damon Stoudamire's 3-pointer with 4:15 to play but went scoreless for nearly three minutes as Seattle scored the next seven points and took a two-point edge on a dunk by Ronald Murray with 2:02 left. The SuperSonics were unable to stop Zach Randolph from scoring on a hook shot with six seconds left. On the final possession of regulation, Seattle's Vladimir Radmanovic missed an open 3-pointer as time expired, rushing the shot as Ratliff was coming in for the block. "Vlade was right open and I just wished he would have moved in a little bit," Allen said. "We just needed one point." Randolph led Portland with 25 points and Stoudamire added 22.
