Game StoryPHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Once the New Jersey Nets started missing free throws, Allen Iverson finally made a shot. Iverson's jumper with 7.2 seconds left forced overtime and Corliss Williamson scored seven of his 15 points in the extra session as the Philadelphia 76ers rallied for a 108-100 victory over the Nets. The Nets blew a six-point lead in the final 70 seconds of regulation as Richard Jefferson and Alonzo Mourning each missed two free throws that could have sealed the win on the same possession. New Jersey made its first 19 free throws and missed its last seven. "It's not so much how many you make, it's when you make them," Jefferson said. "We didn't make them late. When all is said and done, (I have) to step up and make free throws." "They did give us a break by missing those free throws, that helped," Iverson said. "The ball don't lie." Iverson, who went without a basket in the first half and sank just 5-of-15 shots, made the Nets pay, sinking a 15-footer to tie it, 96-96. It was the first basket in nearly 11 minutes for Iverson, who scored 26 points. "There was a big-time bucket by Allen to tie the game up at the end of regulation," Sixers coach Jim O'Brien said. Williamson took over from there, bulling his way past a collection of Nets for a three-point play, an inside bucket and two free throws that gave Philadelphia a 105-98 lead with 1:49 to go. The Sixers led for just 18 seconds in the second half but never trailed in overtime. "There were some matchup problems out there and I tried to take advantage of the situation," Williamson said. "We were able to get a few shots to fall inside. ... That was the key for us in overtime. We outmuscled them in the post and our guards took over from there." The game was a battle of attrition as both teams were playing for the second straight night, missing players due to injury and losing another in this one. Philadelphia lost guard Aaron McKie to a left rotator cuff strain and New Jersey lost center Jason Collins to a sprained ankle. "You have to be ready, because you never know what's going to happen," Williamson said. "Your star player could go down or get into foul trouble. You have to come in and have to make up for those absences." In addition, Nets forwards Eric Williams and Brian Scalabrine fouled out and Sixers forward Kenny Thomas was disqualified. Iverson finally got some scoring help as seven Sixers were in double figures. Marc Jackson scored 19 points and Kyle Korver added 15 as Philadelphia snapped a three-game slide. "We battled and did what we were supposed to do and we did it correctly," Jackson said. "I think we do some things great, but we do more things horrible. We have to do everything with consistency." Jefferson had 33 points and 10 rebounds but missed a 22-footer at the regulation horn. Williams scored 17 points and Mourning added 16, nine boards and three blocks for the Nets, who fell to 1-1 in overtime. "Any loss is tough, especially with the effort we put forth and being shorthanded," Mourning said. "We work the game the way we worked it, and we come up short like that knowing that we had a chance to win on the road. It's pretty tough to digest." For the fifth time in as many games, the Sixers fell behind by double digits. They used an 8-0 run near the end of the third quarter to pull into a 72-72 tie. Rodney Buford scored 11 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter before two free throws by Williams gave the Nets a 96-90 lead with 1:10 to go. But Iverson and Korver each made two free throws and Jefferson and Mourning each missed a pair after offensive rebounds, setting up Iverson's tying shot.
