Game StoryNEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- On paper, the game between the Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Hornets appeared to be a mismatch. On the court, it proved no different. Brad Miller scored 24 points and Peja Stojakovic added 20 as the Kings posted their ninth win in 10 games, a 94-81 triumph over the lowly Hornets, who have lost five straight games. After having its seven-game winning streak snapped by Minnesota on Sunday, Sacramento rebounded with a win at Memphis on Tuesday. In this one, the Kings fell behind early and ended the first quarter trailing, 23-21. But Sacramento came out strong in the second period, opening the quarter with a 19-0 run in which reserve guard Bobby Jackson scored nine of his 19 points. Jackson, who made his first six shots, called the run the Kings' best stretch of the season. "Regardless of (New Orleans) missing a lot of people, we came out and played well," he said. "We did a great job. We executed. You can't ask for anything better." David Wesley stopped the bleeding for New Orleans with a pair of short jumpers to make it 40-27. But the Hornets scored just seven points afterward and trailed, 48-34, at halftime. "In the second quarter, they got hot and we got cold," New Orleans coach Byron Scott said. "That was basically the ballgame. We were fighting uphill all night long." Former Hornet Miller and Stojakovic each scored eight points in the third quarter and Jackson added six in the final 12 minutes as the Kings rolled to their fourth straight road win after dropping their first four away from home. "It was a scary game for me," Sacramento coach Rick Adelman said. "(The Hornets are) struggling, they're banged up. You feel sorry for them. They've got to get a win somewhere." Taking advantage of the absence of Hornets All-Star center Jamaal Magloire, who is out with a fractured right ring finger, Miller made 10-of-12 shots after shooting 39 percent in the previous seven games. "I finally made some shots. I hadn't made some in a while," Miller said. "(Magloire is) a heck of a player. Offensively, defensively, he puts pressure on you. We just kept attacking. They're hurting, so you have to take advantage of it." Wesley scored 18 points and Junior Harrington added a season-high 15 off the bench for New Orleans (1-13), which fell to 0-7 at home. Harrington and Lee Nailon combined for all the points in an 8-0 run to open the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to 74-65. But Jackson made a pair of 3-pointers and Stojakovic sank another to snuff the rally. "We need to end this run and get a win some way, somewhere," Wesley said. "Our defense is good in spots, our rebounding is good in spots and sometimes we turn the ball over at the wrong time. Tonight, we almost had to play a perfect second half just to get back into this game, and we didn't do that."
