Game StoryMILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Michael Redd used some fireworks to keep the Chicago Bulls winless at the Bradley Center. Redd scored a season-high 39 points - four days after mustering a season low - as the Bucks snapped a five-game losing streak with a 99-92 victory over the Chicago Bulls. "It was my mission to attack tonight and let people know that Michael Redd is for real," Redd said. The victory was the 13th straight at home against the Bulls, who entered the game in the midst of a five-game win streak, their longest since the 1997-98 championship season, which was their last campaign with Michael Jordan. "It was frustrating, but you have to realize he (Redd) is one of the best scorers in the league and he is certainly one of the best shooters in the league," Chicago guard Kirk Hinrich. "We have to keep playing him tough and hopefully he misses a few." Redd gave his best Jordan impersonation in the first half, scoring on his first six attempts en route to a 26-point half. Joe Smith added 10 points as Milwaukee led, 61-52, at the break. "(Redd's) shot was rolling early and we were able to piggy-back his vibe," Bucks coach Terry Porter said. The outstanding performance came four days after Redd managed four points in a 104-95 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday. Mentioning that the star players needed to step for the Bucks after that loss, Redd came out shooting in this one, going 15-of-27 from the field and hitting the boards for eight rebounds. With Milwaukee clinging to a 93-90 advantage, Redd backed Ben Gordon down near the right post and hit a fade away jumper with 23 seconds remaining. He converted the following free throw for a three-point play. "Of course, Redd is Redd, but they tried to exploit our younger players and we were just a little bit off offensively," Bulls coach Scott Skiles said. Smith finished with 21 points and nine rebounds and Desmond Mason scored 13 points for Milwaukee. Smith's bank shot off an inbounds pass with 51 seconds left gave the Bucks a much-needed basket for a 93-90 lead. "We had guys make plays down the stretch, which was key," Porter said. "Joe made a big shot for us in a low clock situation, which was necessary to maintain our cushion." Gordon scored 10 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter for Chicago, tying the score at 80-80 on a 3-pointer with 8:29 remaining. After a tough driving layup by Mason, Gordon came back with a runner in the lane to retie the score, 82-82. Hinrich scored 18 points and Eddy Curry added 15 for the Bulls, who shot 45 percent (35-of-78) from the floor and committed 17 turnovers.
