Game Story

SEATTLE (Ticker) -- The Seattle SuperSonics appear to have the Miami Heat's number. Vladimir Radmanovic scored 11 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter as the SuperSonics beat the Heat for the second time in a week, 108-98. On Monday, Ray Allen scored 35 points as Seattle snapped Miami's franchise-record 14-game winning streak, 98-96. The Heat, who had won two straight games since the defeat, went on a 12-0 fourth-quarter run to take a 95-93 lead with 5:55 remaining. But after Eddie Jones made a scoop shot to give Miami a 97-95 edge with 5:07 left, Seattle embarked on a 10-0 run to seize control. "I don't think this is a measuring stick as far at the NBA season goes," said Heat guard Damon Jones, who scored 12 points. "They played very well and got the best of us in two meetings, so we'll see them in the finals." Seattle took the lead for good, 98-97, when Danny Fortson split two free throws with 4:10 remaining, and Radmanovic added a fast-break dunk and a 3-pointer before Fortson capped the burst by sinking a pair from the line with 45 seconds left. Fortson scored seven of his 18 points in the final period. "This team has too many good shooters and too many players who can score," said Radmanovic, who sank five 3-pointers and came within two points of his career high. "There are going to be those nights when Ray and Rashard (Lewis) aren't going to score, so the guys coming off the bench, including me, have to step up." Shaquille O'Neal collected 28 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks for the Heat, who slipped to 2-15 all time at Seattle. Star guard Dwyane Wade added 16 points but scored just four after the second quarter, which ended with Miami ahead, 57-49. Although he played the entire final quarter, O'Neal - guarded by Fortson - was held to just one shot and five points, as Danny Fortson was given the job of trying to control him. "It was tough," Fortson said. "I tried to keep him out of the paint. It wasn't easy. I had to work for it. You have to lean on him a little bit, because he leans on people. If I can get him tired a little bit, I've done my job." Guarded by Antonio Daniels for much of the second half, Wade was held to just 1-of-7 shooting after the break. "It's always the key to the game to stop a guy like Dwyane Wade or a guy like Shaq, but it's easier said than done," Daniels said. "Dwyane is one of the best one-on-one players in the league and for us to contain him was a total team effort." "They just took us apart on pick-and-rolls in the second half," Miami coach Stan Van Gundy said. "They got 23 second-chance points but a lot of it was because we could not contain their pick-and-rolls. I think we are capable of playing it, but we did not get the job done today. "I thought we did a great job fighting back from a 10-point deficit and getting the lead, but from there on they were much better than we were."
