Game StoryLOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Jerry Sloan was glad he had some fresh players ready to contribute during crunch time. Raja Bell came off the bench to score 14 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter as the Utah Jazz ended a seven-game road losing streak with a 102-94 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. In beating the Lakers for the second time in as many meetings this season, the bench scored 28 of the Utah's 34 points in the fourth quarter. "It is unusual," Sloan said. "But our bench played better because they moved the ball better. And they attacked the zone a little better. The other guys had gotten a little hesitant to do what they had to do." Trailing 78-74 with 8:21 remaining, Bell and Howard Eisley made a pair of buckets during a 12-2 run that gave the Jazz the lead for good, 86-80. "Some nights it is your turn," Bell said. "And sometimes it is not. You just try to make the most of it. I never second guess the coach and my job is to be ready and go out there and do my job when it's that time." Los Angeles cut the margin to 90-88 with 1:53 left after Chucky Atkins hit a pair of free throws before Raul Lopez buried a straightaway 3-pointer to give the Jazz a five-point lead. The Lakers made a final push in the last minute when Lamar Odom sank a pair of foul shots, making the score 95-92. But Lopez found Bell in the left corner for a 3-pointer with 33 seconds left to ice the win. "He (Bell) was concentrating on doing the right thing," Sloan said. "He was on a roll and he got the shots he can make. He was really red-hot tonight and when he got the ball he didn't mess around with it." "We played with confidence tonight," Bell said. "We believed what we were going to do would work. We had our minds made up to attack their zone and things opened up for us when we did that." Matt Harpring scored 19 points and Carlos Boozer added 18 to lead five Utah players in double figures. Mehmet Okur came off the bench to score 11 and grab 12 rebounds. "We worked some things out in practice," Harpring said. "We shot the ball when we were open and if we missed them we didn't hang our heads. We just got back on defense and defended and came back down the floor with confidence." Playing without leading scorer Kobe Bryant for the second straight game, the Lakers failed for the eighth time to register their first three-game winning streak of the season. Caron Butler scored 26 points and Atkins added 18 for Los Angeles. Atkins was looking for revenge since the Lakers lost their last outing against the Jazz in November, when Utah held the Lakers to a franchise low 29 percent (20-of-68) from the floor and just 20 baskets. "With the way this team beat us in Utah, we really wanted to come back and try to return the favor," Atkins said. "But for us to come out with no energy was really disappointing to me."
