Game StoryTORONTO, Jan. 19 (Ticker) -- The Toronto Raptors may want to reconsider any thoughts of a trade involving Jalen Rose. Rose scored 24 points off the bench to lead five players in double figures as the Raptors rolled to a 98-81 victory over the New York Knicks. "Our starters were struggling and I had to make the most of the opportunity," said Rose, who has voiced his displeasure about coming off the bench. "I was able to knock down shots and make some plays." The Raptors made their first six 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to break open a tight contest and post their seventh victory in the last nine games. Rose, who has been the subject of trade rumors virtually all season, scored 14 points in the period, helping the Raptors close the game with a 20-4 run. "We felt like Jalen had some mismatches," Raptors coach Sam Mitchell said. "We felt like he could beat them and make the shot. When he got doubled, he made the pass." "Jalen got going early in the fourth quarter," Raptors forward Donyell Marshall said. "Once he gets going, he demands attention. He swung it out and we swung it around the perimeter and we got wide-open threes." Marshall scored 12 of his 17 points in the final period and made five 3-pointers, helping the Raptors win at home for the ninth time in 10 games. "Donyell got his shooting touch back the other night in Minnesota," Mitchell said. "He made some huge shots for us in that fourth quarter." Chris Bosh broke Marshall's franchise record set last season with his ninth consecutive double-double, collecting 14 points and 14 rebounds. "I'm proud of it," Bosh said. "I want to stay humble and make sure I keep doing what I'm doing because something is working." One day after coach Lenny Wilkens told the Knicks (17-21) they were better than their record indicated, they fell for the eighth time in nine outings and out of a tie for first place in the weak Atlantic Division. "I believe if we can win one, we can get back on track and put some games together," Knicks guard Jamal Crawford said. "Tonight, we thought we had it for three quarters. But we fell apart in the fourth. It's very urgent and we need to get the next one." Nazr Mohammed had 16 points and 17 rebounds and was among five Knicks to score in double figures. "Everyone's extremely disappointed," Mohammed said. "But we're not giving up." The 81 points were a season low by a Raptors opponent.
