Game Story

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- Not even a cut above his right eye could keep Mike Bibby from helping the Sacramento Kings from extending their winning streak. Bibby recorded his second career triple-double by collecting 17 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists as the Kings posted their sixth straight win with a 123-96 rout of the Cleveland Cavaliers. "That last rebound was hard to get, I didn't think I was going to get it," Bibby said. "Everybody was trying to let me get the rebound, but it kept going the other way." With 2:07 remaining in the first quarter, Bibby collided with Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas and was cut underneath his eyebrow. After receiving four stitches, Bibby returned in the second quarter. "That's what he gets being down there with the big trees," said Kings center Brad Miller, who earlier in the week said the guards needed to go after more rebounds. The injury did not affect Bibby's 3-point shooting as the guard connected for four of Sacramento's season-high 12 baskets from the arc. Bibby's rebound and assist totals matched season highs. The rest of his teammates were eager to help Bibby, who was well aware of of how close he was to the mark, and pleased for the seven-year guard. "He was saying, 'Shoot the ball, I need three assists, I need two,'" Miller said. "That's the fun part, when you have a game like this." "We tried to pour Gatorade on him when he came in the locker room," Kings forward Chris Webber said. After recording his first-career triple-double on Wednesday at Portland, star Cavaliers forward LeBron James was held to just 18 points. "We had a tough game last night, but we don't want to use that as an excuse," James said. "They started knocking shots off crazy. A team making shots like that, there's nothing you can do. There was no zone defense. They were just icing the pick-and-roll." Webber scored 11 of his 27 points during an 18-9 run to close out the first half as Sacramento opened a 59-50 advantage. Sacramento sealed the win by outscoring Cleveland, 31-20, in the third quarter en route to a season-high point total. Sacramento was aggressive defensively and was able to hold the Cavaliers to season lows with two steals and one block. "It's definitely a key, but we can still improve," said Webber, who had 13 rebounds and two steals. "Our help defense is good but we need to recognize rebound position and I think we'll be better." Cleveland coach Paul Silas was frustrated by his team's performance. "The best thing about this game is that it is over," he said. The Cavaliers also had a scare in the fourth quarter when starting point guard Jeff McInnis left the game with a sprained left ankle. "It's nothing," McInnis said. "I could have gone back in, but the game was out of reach."
