Game StoryAUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- Rasheed Wallace and the surging Detroit Pistons put this one away early. Wallace scored eight of his 17 points in a key second-quarter run and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Pistons routed the Milwaukee Bucks, 107-83. Chauncey Billups added 17 points and Richard Hamilton 16 for the Pistons, who have won eight of their last nine games. "We're just getting people the basketball when they're open," said Wallace, one of six Pistons to score in double figures. "We're just all feeding off each other," Hamilton said. "We're trying to make the game easy." The Pistons finished with 32 assists and only four turnovers. Billups did a double-take when he looked at the final boxscore. "I've seen 32 assists, but I've never seen just four turnovers," Billups said. "That was sweet. That was beautiful. It was a lot of fun playing like that." The four turnovers tied the franchise record that was set against Golden State on February 26, 1997. The NBA record is three, done six times. "That's the second game in a row our three guards had one turnover between them," Pistons coach Larry Brown said. "The first few minutes, (Milwaukee) executed great and had a lot of energy. After that we settled down, defended great and played about as well as we can play. We're sharing the ball and taking good shots." It was the third straight game that the Pistons have had at least 30 assists, the first time they have done that since January 1987. The Pistons held just a 39-37 lead before closing the second quarter on a 19-4 run. Wallace had two 3-pointers and a jumper during the burst. Detroit pulled away in the third quarter, opening with nine straight points en route to taking an 85-58 advantage into the fourth period. "We lost this game in the second quarter," Milwaukee coach Terry Porter said. "Detroit had 21 fast-break points (to none for the Bucks) at the half, and they are definitely not a fast-breaking team. We turned the ball over too many times for easy baskets. "At the start of the second half, they continued to take it to us. In our first five or six possessions of the third quarter, we didn't do anything." The Pistons shot 53 percent (41-of-78) from the field as they beat the Bucks for the first time in three tries this season. Reserve Erick Strickland scored 18 points to pace Milwaukee, which played a second straight game without leading scorer Michael Redd (sprained left index finger). The Bucks, who had shot at least 50 percent from the field in three straight games, connected on only 43 percent. Porter said his team missed Redd's outside shooting. "Our guys just couldn't make their perimeter shots, and you have to make those against that team because they're not going to give you much inside," Porter said. Milwaukee's Mike James, who was with Detroit when it won the NBA title last year, isn't ready to count this year's team out. "They did the same thing last year," said James, who scored 13 points. "They started off slow but when they found their rhythm, they really got things going. They're still the champions. They're still the team to beat. They still have that fight and hunger in them. That was evident tonight."
